HOW THE NEW RIGHT WILL SAVE THE WORLD
The Convergence of Catastrophes and how European Identitarians can save Europe and the world from disaster.

The European New Right/ European Identitarian movement, and the subsequent establishment of IMPERIUM EUROPA, is the only defense we have against what Guillaume Faye and others have called a “convergence of catastrophes”. Any one of these catastrophes on its own is enough to bring down our scientific industrial global civilization. Have no doubt that the aftermath of any of these pitfalls will be a brutal world of tribal warfare, anarchic robber barons, squalid living conditions, starvation and possible extinction.

While the mainstream parties, from Hang'Em High Tories to Trotskyite transsexuals and Greens, continue to bury their heads in the sand and ignore the problems caused by a rising population and diminishing resources, the New Right is the only movement willing to face up to the challenges before us, and by overcoming those challenges with courage, reason and without cruelty, we will save far more lives that would otherwise be lost in the chaos of disintegration. Far more lives are currently threatened by the stupidity and short-sightedness of liberal universalists, greedy capitalists and deluded multiculturalists than will ever be put in jeopardy by the New Right.

By far the worst of these catastrophes, in my opinion, is relentless environmental degradation: global warming, pollution and endocrine disrupting chemicals, deforestation, the stripping of the seas etc.. Global warming is the threat most likely to trigger the collapse, but a scenario with an unexpected environmental impact, perhaps a mass extinction of a vitally important animal or plant, would cause a similar result.

Only last week we watched David 'chameleon' Cameron FLYING to an isolated Norwegian glacier to say a few words about global warming, while Chancellor Brown FLEW to New York to give another speech about climate change and how we should stop leaving our TVs on stand-by overnight. The next day, after oil had passed the $75-per-barrel barrier for the first time, Brown was on the box again demanding increased production and more exploration for oil! How about some joined-up thinking, Chancellor?

The second of these converging catastrophes is the inherent instability of global free trade and the drive for profit at any expense, combined with severe depletion of resources, Peak Oil and the US twin-deficit. We are currently “enjoying” the longest-sustained period of economic growth since Britain became an industrial nation (as Brown constantly reminds us); but there are plenty of reasons for thinking that neo-liberal Britain and the world will not survive another downturn in world trade.

The third of these catastrophes is continuing mass migration from the third world into Europe. With the growth of ethnic minority communities, the potential for cultural misunderstanding, intolerance and intra-communal violence also grows. The true nightmare of multiculturalism would be exposed for all to see only after an economic collapse. By that stage Europe, like Humpty Dumpty, may be impossible to put together again so we must try our hardest to manage the transition to sustainable development in as ordered and disciplined manner as possible. Only a command economy directed by the IMPERIUM EUROPA will have sufficient reach and power to impose necessary order.

These are the big three threats; environmental, economic, and demographic. But something as trivial or left-field as the break-up of the EU, or a terrorist incident, or bird flu or SARS, or OPEC deciding to trade in Euros, could be enough to tip the world – and your life – spiralling into the abyss.

Only the New Right has a vision and a programme bold enough to avert these disasters, through its idea of an IMPERIUM EUROPA powerful enough to re-assert political above economic control, where the long-term interests of the whole nation Europa have replaced the narrowly destructive motives of the current unrepresentative plutocratic elite.

BEYOND EUROPE

Once the IMPERIUM and European autarky is established, the consequences of Europe pulling-out of world free trade will be dramatic. All other continents and regions would be forced to confront their continuing slavish acceptance of the Zionist Atlanticist New World Order. The challenge to complacency and consumer capitalist stagnation can only be to the benefit of the populations of those regions. Environmental concerns and sustainable development, previously crowded out by neo-liberalisms single-minded pursuit of profit, will once again occupy a pivotal status.

BETRAYAL

I can't imagine a worse betrayal than to allow for decades mass immigration from countries and civilizations completely incompatible with our own, and then to start unprovoked and unjustified wars with those very same countries and civilizations.

I can't think of a better way of deliberately sowing discord; locally, nationally and across the whole planet. I can't think of a better way of spreading distrust, violence and hatred. I can't think of an experiment that is more likely to degenerate into savage blood-letting than multiculturalism.

FOR THOSE THAT ALREADY KNOW

Lady Renouf made an important point at the New Right meeting in London in April – one that I don't think has been emphasized enough.

The raising of awareness in our folk, and the subsequent radical transformation which I believe we all hope to see, can be achieved peacefully, without bloodshed.

It is our enemies who wish to destroy Europe with their policy of mass immigration and ethnic Balkanizaton, promising a future of endless tribal war.

By staying aware and speaking the truth, we are the only people to offer a viable alternative to the nightmare of a continent faced with dramatic environmental change and limited resources spiraling into a savage bloodbath, with different religions and races at each other's throats.

We should be proud that our solutions are rational and embedded deep within the European psyche. Our enemies like to portray us as unthinking violent thugs, but we can show that the implementation of New Right ideas across Europe – the establishment of an Imperium – will save lives, unlike the
abysmal prospect offered by multiculturalists.

Race and Consciousness
Our consciousness is mediated by our race and culture, just as white light changed into colour by going through a prism. The light is still light, but it has undergone a literally indescribable transformation (remember, our experience of colour is a uniquely subjective experience, despite understanding in theory about wavelength and even quantum mechanics).

Aryan metaphysics is non-dualist, everything is consciousness, yet that consciousness is rarely encountered by us in its pure white form – the light before it enters the prism. Maybe some have encountered it; Meister Eckhart, Theresa of Avila, Wordsworth and Shelley. Instead, what we see in and around us is consciousness coloured by a myriad different factors: generation of birth, sex, class, race, religion, and of course most dramatically of all by species...or mode of existence for inanimate objects.

Hans Bluher and the Wandervogel
Text of HANS BLUHER AND THE WANDERVOGEL talk from sixth New Right meeting in London, February 2006.

Good afternoon comrades,

This afternoon I will be talking about the neglected figure of Hans Bluher, a little about his life, the intellectual tradition from whence he came, how he revolutionized that tradition, and finally a little on his influence and potential influence.

Hans Bluher championed the cultural significance of homosexuality and the Mannerbund. He won a widespread following, first with readers of Adolf Brand’s DER EIGENE and the nascent German youth movement, notably the Wandervogel, then later with the State.

Bluher was born in Freiburg in Schlesien in 1888. His birthday was yesterday, 17 February, when he would have been 118 years old. In 1912 he was the first man to write a history of the Wandervogel – the contemporary German youth movement. His history was published as a series of three pamphlets, the third of which was called DIE DEUTSCHE WANDERVOGELBEWEGUNG ALS EROTISCHES PHANOMEN. In 1913 he set up the Jung Wandervogel with Wilhelm Jansen, which, unlike most of the rest of the Wandervogel, was male-only. In 1917 he wrote the first volume of his most important book, outlining his masculinist theory in DIE ROLLE DER EROTIK IN DER MANNLICHEN GESELLSCHAFT: Eine Theorie der Menschlichen Staatsbildung, followed two years later with the second volume. As Bluher said at the time, “Before this book the idea of basing man's existence in the State on Eros has never been coherently pursued”. During the Nazi period he was subject to a Schreibverbot, and died peacefully in Berlin in 1955.

Bluher is generally though of as within the masculinist, or men's movement tradition of thought, but in fact he represents a major break, or development. In Germany at the turn of the last century, there were three main groupings within the men's movement:

Firstly, the intellectual tradition derived from Otto Weininger and the teaching tradition from Dr. Gustav Wyneken, which Bluher was to revolutionize.

Second, the Gemeinschaft der Eigenen (Community of the Self-Owners/ Special) founded officially by Adolf Brand in 1902 and which published its own magazine, Der Eigene, from 1899-1931. Brand and Der Eigene championed the anarchism of Max Stirner, as well as Bluher's theories about the decisive role of the Mannerbund – ancient warrior-band – in the creation of the State. Of course, no-one ever argued that these Mannerbund were exclusively homosexual, simply that homosexuality was not the moral issue it was to become with the arrival of Judeo-Christianity. Wilhelm Jansen, who co-founded the Gemeinschaft with Brand, was introduced to the Wandervogel by Bluher, where he later became an important leader.

The third part of the men's movement was grouped around the romantic poet Stefan George's Cosmic Circle in the Schwabing suburb of Munich, and included such figures as Ludwig Klages and Alfred Schuler. They idealized the Emperor Hadrian's lover Antinous and took their view of history from Johann Jakob Bachofen's Mutterrecht, espousing a prehistoric, matriarchal society. The Cosmic Circle was to have an international impact via D.H. Lawrence.

In the men's movement intellectual tradition, Otto Weininger was the first of these masculinists, whose influential book GESLECHT UND CHARACTER (SEX AND CHARACTER) was written as a reaction against Bachofen’s DAS MUTTERRECHT. Bachofen, like anthropologist Marija Gimbutas more recently, had proposed an original matriarchal pre-historic culture in Europe. Instead, Weininger ascribed gender characteristics from Absolute Manhood to Absolute Womanhood to different nations. Weininger also suggested a complimentary/ supplementary theory of desire which ultimately derived from Plato; he develops the idea of an algebra of sexual attraction. Weininger killed himself in Beethoven's house the same year that his book was published, in 1903, while his book gained in notoriety. Ford Maddox Ford remembers SEX AND CHARACTER as one of the most sensational books of the early Twentieth Century, which was still being discussed under hushed breaths in the polite salons of European capitals three years after publication. It was studied by Dietrich Eckart, ended up on Hitler's bookshelves, and Julius Evola provided an introduction to the 1956 Italian edition. A rather unusual audience for a Viennese Jew! SEX AND CHARACTER provoked Evola to write his own METAPHYSICS OF SEX two years later. Weininger’s views can be summed up in his following quote, “for true sexual union it is necessary that there come together a complete male and a complete female”.

Heinrich Schurtz, author of the best-seller ALTERKLASSEN UND
MANNERBUNDE (1902) was a major contributor to the men's movement.
In this comparative cultural study Schurtz expounded his theory of the dual primary impulses in man, the sexual and the social drive.

Weininger was followed by Benedict Friedlaender, whose most important book DIE RENAISSANCE DES EROS URANIOS (1904) condemned Plato for the separate categorizations of homosexual and heterosexual, as well as the “erotic monopoly of women and the priesthood”. Friedlaender represents the last, failed attempt to reconcile patriarchy and the bourgeois family with homo or bi-sexuality, as in the Hellenic ideal.

Bluher’s significant break with previous Masculinists and sexologists was on two major fronts, partly as a result of the men's movement's encounter with Freud, and partly a result of his re-interpretations of Heinrich Schurtz. Bluher unsurprisingly was highly critical of Freud, with whom he corresponded, and declared in answer to Freud’s theory of repression that, “The repression of sexuality does not result from culture, but the reverse, culture results from the repression of sexuality. To be human and to have culture are identical.” According to Andrew Hewitt’s POLITICAL INVERSIONS, it was this encounter with Freud, and not Bluher’s on-going involvement with political philosophy, that proved decisive.

Hans Bluher abandoned theories of sexuality based on either biology, or on complimentary or supplementry mathematics grounded in the male-female duality. Instead, Bluher went back to basics and insisted on a single unified consciousness as being the source of sexuality.

For Bluher, it is sexuality – the putative biological origin – that is an abstraction, and eros – the cultural facts of desire – that proves the sole concrete ground for analysis. Of course, this approach disarms the objection that homosexuality is “against nature.” To quote Bluher:

“It is not something that needs to be explained, but rather something that – as eros – makes explanation and meaning possible.”
“Eros is a meaningful and meaning-constitutive phenomenon that can be reduced neither to mere symptom, nor to biology.”
“Whenever sexuality makes itself noticed in man it has already been taken up into the workings of eros and thereby acquired a meaning.”
“Sexuality creates (indeed must create) two fully developed, originary and indestructible types of man; one desires men, the other, women.”
“Eros is the philosophy of the particular.”

This assertion of the supremacy of culture stresses the first major gap that had opened up between Bluher and previous Masculinists, and at the same time, brings Bluher into line with modern European New Right thinking, especially with the philosophical anthropologist Arnold Gehlen’s notion of the individual as being bio-cultural, an inseparable mix of race and culture. Bluher rejected previous biological theories from liberals like Karl Ulrichs, and Magnus Hirschfeld's Scientific Humanitarian Committee as well as Masculinists like Weininger and Friedlander

Hans Bluher versus Fred Flintstone

Bluher’s second break with previous sexologists and political philosophers was his privileging of the Mannerbund: by undermining the accepted male/ female polarity he destroyed the foundations of the liberal state, wedded as it was (and is) to domestic bourgeois respectability. For convenience, I like to refer to the liberal view of history and evolution, where the rational liberal individual springs fully-formed as if from thin air as the “Fred Flintstone” argument.
According to social contract theory, and Hanna-Barbera cartoons, individuals in the original State of Nature are rational, autonomous and self-interested. So Fred decides to form a Social Contract with his equally rational neighbours, including Barney Rubble. [The analogy isn't quite exact, in that Fred is a worker in a quarry rather than as an agrarian worker-owner, but Fred still lives in a market society much like our own.] It is this grotesque cartoon figure from the fetid imaginations of Jean-Jaques Rousseau, John Locke and Adam Smith that has been the target of successful pot-shots by anti-liberals from Charles Maurras to the New Right, but only Hans Bluher has the audacity and logic to target both Fred AND Wilma.
Bluher rejected this notion that Aryan culture was created spontaneously by domestic individuals and nuclear families like Fred and Wilma, Betty and Barney or Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm. Instead he advanced the idea of the Mannerbund – the warrior band – as the principle catalyst for the formation of societal structure and the State. Further, Bluher declared that the State was an expression of “Objective Will”. As he said, “The State is not simply the the social construction placed on nature, but rather the political phenomenon which itself defines a specifically human nature.”

However, he did accept that other, non-Aryan civilizations, notably the Semitic, may have originated from the domestic nuclear family, and have been stamped accordingly. Julius Evola was to take this idea and run with it.

For proof of his argument, Bluher cited Sparta, the sacred Seven Hundred of Thebes and chivalric knights, squires and Templars, whose echo across the centuries can be heard in Wagner's PARSIFAL. Since his time, and especially since WW2, research and information about the Mannerbund has expanded considerably. In 1934 Otto Hofler (Hoefler) published KULTISCHE GEHEIMBUNDE DER GERMANEN (Frankfurt/ Main 1934) about the Herulians and Wotan's warrior-bands, then after the War Indo-Europeanist scholars such as Georges Dumezil with his three-function-theory, Jan de Vries and Alain Danielou lifted Indo-European studies to still greater heights. More recently French historian Bernard Sergent with his books HOMOSEXUALITE INITIATIQUE DANS L'EUROPE ANCIENNE and HOMOSEXUALITY IN GREEK MYTH, Alby Stone, Kris Kershaw, Steve Pollington, and Connell O’Donovan have all shed light on the significance of the Mannerbund. I’ve written about this separately in my Mannerbund essays, save to say the evidence for the Mannerbund origins of Aryan culture is increasingly overwhelming, and makes sense logically. Bluher emphasized the Mannerheld – the male hero who holds the band together, a leader who in Max Weber's categorization exercises charismatic authority, and is represented as an archetype in such semi-divine figures as Hercules, “Through the force of his attraction, which he exerts on young and old among his warriors, he can obtain the greatest sacrifices, the most tremendous efforts, and the most splendid successes.”

Influence on Wandervogel

The first modern youth movements started before 1896 as entirely autonomous from adults, necessarily so because they were largely motivated as a reaction against the gross materialism of the Kaiserreich. Groups of youngsters would meet up at each others' houses before taking hikes into the woods or mountains, to discuss how to make Germany and Europe a better place. Only later did adults like Hans Bluher in Germany or Baden-Powell in England become involved.

The Wandervogel name, which was adopted collectively from 1896, is most likely taken from Book 17 of Walt Whitman’s LEAVES OF GRASS, titled “Birds of Passage”. This was not Whitman's only contribution to German thought at the time; Adolf Brand's men's movement was called “Gemeinschaft der Eigenen” - the Community of Self-Owners – which although taken from the philosophy of Max Stirner, has a distinctly Whitmanesque resonance. Bluher himself refers to the Wandervogel as a “confederation of friendship” - a direct quote from Whitman .

Bluher introduced Adolf Brand's colleague Wilhem Janssen (1866-1943) to the Wandervogel at the turn of the last century, and in 1910 they together formed Jung Wandervogel, which unlike most of the rest of the Wandervogel never admitted girls as members.

Carl Jung gave a vivid account of the early Wandervogel in his famous 1936 essay Wotan. Jung argued that each race had its own collective unconscious and archetypes, and for the Teutons Wotan was in charge: “We have seen Wotan come to life in the Jungendbewegung (youth movement), and the blood of several sheep was shed in the sacrifices which celebrated the very dawn of his rebirth. Armed with Rucksack and lute, blond youths, and sometimes also girls, were to be seen as restless wanderers on every road from the North Cape to Sicily, true servants of the roving god...The German youths who celebrated the solstice were not the first to hear a rustle in the primeval forest of the unconscious. They were anticipated by Nietzsche, Shuler, Stefan George, and Klages. The literary tradition of the Rhine and the country south of the Main has a classical form that cannot be easily shaken off. Every interpretation that comes from that region, therefore, is inclined to return to a classic model, to antique intoxication and exuberance, i.e. to Dionysus, the peur aeternus and the cosmogonic eros.” [NB: On the Cosmogonic Eros . Ludwig Klages 1922].

The most important event in the history of the Wandervogel was 11 October 1913 when the Jungendbewegung Free German Youth Movement was summoned to a mass-meeting on the Meissner Heights outside Kassel. A manifesto was issued, which stated in part, ”German Youth no longer intended to remain a dependency of the older generation, excluded from public life and relegated to a passive role. It seeks, independently of the commands of convention, to give shape and form to its own life. It strives after a lifestyle, corresponding to its youth, which will make it possible to take itself and its activities seriously and to integrate itself as a special factor in the general work of culture.” Ludwig Klages from the Cosmic Circle composed “Mensch und Erde” (Man and Earth) for the occasion, while others sang from Hans Breuer's youth movement songbook published the same year. What was called the “Meissner Formula” strove “to shape life through self-responsibility and wholehearted sincerity”.

After World War One the Wandervogel lost little of it's early idealism, but its cohesiveness was tested. [St. Ch.] Waldecke wrote in Der Eigene in 1925 that it had now condensed into 4 distinct streams, comprising of:
1. Free German, often Anarchist. It was this bunch that descended directly from the Meissner Heights meeting in 1913, and these were the most direct inheritors of the initial Wandervogel inspiration. This group was bolstered by an influx from Dr. Gustav Wyneken's Free School Communities. This branch of the Wandervogel was closely associated with Der Weisse Ritter house in Berlin, from 1921 publisher of The White Knight newspaper for the youth movement.
2. Proletarian-identified leftist movements, whether Anarchist, Marxist or later Stalinist, with the emphasis on class war rather than learning.
3. Christian youth movements that were more Catholic and Protestant youth social work groups than youth movements. These Christian missions were the last to be absorbed into the Hitler Youth.
4. Der Jungdeutsche Orden or Jungdo. The Young German Order was founded by Artur Mahraun at around the same time as the Kapp Putsch in May 1920. It appealed to younger elements on the right and promised to revive the pre-War Wandervogel spirit. Based in Kassel, it had expanded to 70,000 when it was banned in early 1921 whereupon it expanded to almost a third-of-a-million (300,000). It's fate, as with most of the other groups, was to be assimilated into the Hitler Youth.

Influence on State
Apart from individuals from the Wandervogel and groups such as Jungdo, the Young German Order becoming involved in nationalist politics, the movement was absorbed almost in its entirety into the Hitler Youth after 1933. Journalist Ludwig Lewisohn of the left-wing American publication NATION wrote in 1933 that the Wandervogel was “the youth movement from which thousands of storm-troopers came...The entire movement is in fact and by certain aspects of its avowed ideology drenched through with homoerotic feeling and practice”.

Alfred Baumler of the Institut fur Pedagogik at the University of Berlin from 1933 initiated some of Bluher and Wyneken's teaching techniques, and at the same time was won over from Bachofen's Mutterrecht to Bluher's Mannerbund hypothesis. After World War Two, Bluher's main theories of Eros and the Mannerbund were decisively rejected in favour of Magnus Hirschfeld's bizarre notions of intermediate sexes and minority rights.

Influence on Julius Evola
For Evola's theories of desire, Otto Weininger's complimentary mathematics is the obvious direct inspiration for the METAPHYSICS OF SEX, and not Bluher's idea of Eros creating meaning. For Evola, as for Carl Jung, the meaning of sex is the spiritual Hieros Gamos – the sacred marriage within the psyche. But in other books, notably REVOLT AGAINST THE MODERN WORLD and MEN AMONGST THE RUINS, Evola was happy to accept the broad outline of Bluher’s Mannerbund hypothesis, and indeed elaborates upon it.

Influence on Yockey
When American activist Francis Parker Yockey was arrested by the FBI in 1960 he was carrying a copy of Weininger's SEX AND CHARACTER in his suitcase. Yockey was such an admirer of Bluher that ten years earlier, in March 1950, he had translated the entire second volume of THE ROLE OF THE EROTIC IN MALE SOCIETIES. No copies remain, although the FBI did get their hands on one in 1952, but his partner of the time, Elsa Dewette, was able to record a few choice snippets:

“The LEAGUE is the proselyte for that way if life that the GREEKS called ETHOS. This word has something to do with the MAN. It gives notice that the man has already pledged his best to the man. Our most essential, super-abundant, purest, and as they say, most selfless performances are, in one way or another, born in the light of a superior man who gave the stimulus to them. Whoever is in the League cannot sink: All are sustained by this utter certainty.

Women strive constantly, WHOLLY to possess a man. That trap-door to oblivion which lies hidden in a well-guarded secret place in her being, demands a sacrifice: In this way, most men go to ruin through their wives.”

According to Dewette, Yockey then commented “I have always said this. My phrase was and remains: Nearly all women bring out the worst in men: the economical and the social.”

Bluher for the Future

Amongst Indo-European scholars, the Mannerbund is now a familiar landmark on the scene, but now is the time for the Mannerbund to emerge from the pages of history and become a vital political force once again. The so-called gay community will be first in the firing line in the coming war between Aryan ideals and those of the monotheists. Unfortunately, they have been especially weakened by cultural Marxism and multiculturalism over the past thirty years; they were targeted for propaganda earlier than the general population (I remember political correctness firmly established throughout the gay community by the very early 1980s), and since then the propaganda from the gay press, academia etc. has been overwhelming and relentless.

I also reckon there are lessons from Jung's Wotan essay. Here's another quote about Wotan, the Germanic god of battle and poetry, “Later, toward the end of the Weimar Republic, the wandering role was taken over by thousands and thousands of unemployed who were to be met everywhere on their aimless journeys. By 1933 the people no longer wandered, they marched in their hundreds of thousands. The Hitler movement brought the whole of Germany to its feet, from the five-year-olds to the veterans, and produced the spectacle of a great migration of people marking time. Wotan the wanderer was awake.”

French Post-modernist Paul Virilio has called this process “Dromology” and considered it vital to the success of the French Revolution, as well as the 1933 German Revolution. I believe our European civilization, which has been stupefied for sixty years, is about to march along that road again, and vital to those young marchers will be the organizational flair and heroic inspiration of the Mannerbund.

Aryan Futurism: The Vision

This is the text of my ARYAN FUTURISM speech, delivered to the New Right meeting in central London on 28 May 2005.

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. It’s a great, hot, sunny afternoon, which means it’s clear, and when it’s clear we can see further. So I want to see how far we can see. First I’ll talk about where we could be, what it will look like, why Aryan, why Futurist, and why Imperium - and then I’ll discuss how we could get there: how to re-align folk away from the current corrosive human rights agenda and towards European nationalism and growth.

First – a journey to the absolute elsewhere. Imagine you’re flying high above the Eurasian continent – maybe in a spacecraft. Below, you see primeval forest, as our ancestors knew it, with bears, wolves and the lustrous beauty of Mother Nature restored. Every so often you catch sight one of the crystalline structures, perhaps kilometres high, which stud the verdant landscape from Galway Bay to the Kamchatka peninsular.

These crystalline structures are Arologies, originally imagined by Italian architect Paulo Soleri way back in the 1960s. They are cities, like the future-metropolis in Logan’s Run, or Arthur C. Clarke’s CITY AND THE STARS. Arcologies are completely self-sufficient and ecologically sound. They generate their own power using nuclear fission or, ideally, fusion. Healthy food is produced in plankton and algae factories, while genetically engineered protein means we no longer have to kill sentient animals for food, and we can eat meat with a clear conscience. Arcologies are connected to one another via trans-continental tunnels and air and space ports, and built in such a way that in the event of a planetary catastrophe they can leave Earth and survive in deep space.

Anyone who has not volunteered to perform duties for the State is allowed to leave and return to the Arcology at any stage. They can only take with them whatever food, clothing and weapons they can carry, then find a pleasant spot to build a log cabin, and live the life of a trapper. I imagine that the valleys closer to the Arcology would be more populous than those further away, and that a sort of frontier justice would prevail, something like the environment described in William Burroughs PLACE OF DEAD ROADS. Beyond this hinterland would extend the real wilderness. Our Germanic ancestors had a strong belief in the power of “Utgard” – “the area outside” – the area uninhabited by Gods or men, as opposed to “Midgard” – “Middle Earth” – the civilized world of Gods, men and order. Utgard is where Gods and men face their greatest battles. This “Utgard” is a testing ground for youths from the Arcology, to prove themselves in initiation ceremonies, rituals, drinking bouts, man-hunts and survival skills in the wilderness. Traditional societies have no trouble in channeling youthful boisterousness; Nu Labor hasn’t got a clue and calls them “teenage yobbos”.

Inside the Arcologies, the order and authority of the Imperium prevails. Traditionalist thinkers have given less thought to technological automation than to other, perhaps more pressing matters, but 2 who have are Alexander Raven Thomson and Oswald Mosley, both of the British Union of Fascists. I think in some ways the BUF can act as a more inspiring model than the interwar continental systems, as the liberalism and Humpty Dumpty economics of 30’s British Empire is not so dissimilar to the problems all Europeans face now, whereas Italy and Germany faced specific challenges particular to their time. Thomson was the BUF corporate state theorist, one of whose ideas was motorways, and who won almost 25% of the vote in Bethnal Green in 1937. In his book Civilisation as Divine Superman (1932) Thomson wrote, “civilisation could avoid decay if it adopted as its model the communal organisation of Maeterlinck’s insect communities, ‘super-organisms’ in which individual differentiation took place within a “communal spirit shared by every member of the hive”.

Mosley himself believed the solution to the challenge of automation was the “wage-price mechanism” and autarky, or, as he put it, “the insulated self-contained area freed from the world cost system”.

Economics is from Ancient Greek and simply means “household management”: at its most basic it means being able to provide the material life-support for a society – such things as food, warmth, shelter, and (I would argue) access to communications technology. I believe production of material goods should be limited, and rationed by the State exercising a Command Economy. The economy operates on the level of society, not culture. I don’t think economics is as important as politics, and nothing for serious-minded men to fall out over. There are lots of reasons why I personally believe a planned economy is superior to a free-market economy, but here are the main 3:

1. A command economy is the most efficient way of providing a population with the basic essentials for living. Economies of scale, standardization and above all automation would free vast numbers of workers from the meaningless toil of financial and other service industries, to pursue full-time their own individual interests, joining sports clubs, studying, or just drinking and smoking and hanging out with friends. Of course, if a person wants to do something worthwhile, then they can volunteer for State service in a field to which they are suited.
The Neolithic agricultural revolution greatly increased our power over nature, but at the cost of a life of drudgery in the fields for millions of peasants, trapped under the limited horizons of Bronze Age technology. Anthropologists estimate that hunter-gatherers of the stone age only spent about an hour a day working for their survival: the rest was play and contemplation. The industrial revolution increased our ability to manipulate our environment even further, thereby eliminating agricultural labour and, currently, manufacturing labour.

We’ve already had the technology to make this automated utopia a reality for a few decades; what’s stopping us from advancing is consumer capitalism, which is above all a psychological control system. It is propped up by advertising and mass-media to keep everyone’s snouts in the trough. As Buddha (a great Aryan) discovered, the cause of suffering is desire, and desire for more and more material goods (i.e. consumer capitalism) causes more and more suffering and is unsustainable, which leads to my second reason for supporting a command economy:

My second argument is that as limited resources dwindle, we have the option of either rationing, which would lead to the introduction of a planned economy, or leaving the free market as it is. Leaving things as they are would mean only the very richest, most treacherous plutocrats would survive, and they are the very same gangsters (the Windsors, the Bushes etc.) who collaborated the most in destroying Aryan civilization.

Thirdly, command economies seem to be the best at providing military security and guaranteeing technological advance. Britain was forced to adopt a planned economy during WW1 and WW2 to ensure survival. Germany pre-1945 was the most technologically advanced country in the world, the Soviet Union was the first space power and the Americans only got a man to the moon thanks to the state-supported military-industrial complex and Werner von Braun.

To sum up automation in the words of Ernst Junger in Der Arbeiter (1932) “Beyond the democracy of labour, in which the contents of the familiar world will be remoulded and reworked, the outlines can be made out of forms of State which are not comparable to anything that has so far existed. However, what can be predicted is that neither work nor labour will exist in any sense that we have known. The discovery of work as a constituent of abundance and freedom still lies before us…The true contest is for the discovery of a new and unknown world – a discovery more destructive and pregnant with consequences than the discovery of America. It is only with awe that we can look on as man strives to sharpen weapons and hearts in the midst of chaotic upheavals, and see how prepared he is to renounce any simple way out which leads to mere happiness.
To participate in this process and to serve its cause: this is the task with which we are charged.”

We’ve had a glimpse into the future – now I’d like to talk about why Aryan, and why an Imperium.

Only a radical Imperium based on traditional Aryan concepts of synthesis can do justice to the European Faustean spirit. To quote Guillaume Faye, “The old European tradition was always modernist…We don’t stupidly revolt against contemporary Europe, but remain loyal to that which has always been part of Europe”. He is right: the dead hand of 18th century liberalism, which was superseded by continental European political and philosophical thinkers over 2 centuries ago, still clenches the world ever-tighter in its rigor mortis grip.

In MAN AND TECHNICS Spengler wrote, “Now [man] meant not merely to plunder [nature] of her materials, but to enslave and harness her very forces so as to multiply his own strength. This monstrous and unparalleled idea is as old as the Faustean Culture itself. Already in the tenth century we meet with technical constructions of a wholly new sort. Already the steam engine, the steamship, and the air machine are in the thoughts of Roger Bacon and Albertus Magnus. And many a monk busied himself in his cell with the idea of Perpetual Motion.
This last idea never thereafter let go its hold on us, for success would mean the final victory over “God or Nature”, a small world of one’s own creation moving like the great world, by virtue of its own forces and obeying the hand of man alone. To build a world oneself, to be oneself God – that is the Faustian inventor’s dream, and from it has sprung all our designing and re-designing of machines to approximate as nearly as possible the unattainable limit of perpetual motion.”

English philosopher Francis Bacon eloquently expresses the necessary violence of the Faustian spirit in his FABLE OF PROTEUS – which is all about struggle:

“If any skilful minister of nature shall apply force to nature, and by design torture and vex it in order to its annihilation, it on the contrary, being brought to this necessity, changes and transforms itself into a strange variety of shapes and appearances; for nothing but the power of the Creator can annihilate it or truly destroy it… And that method of torturing or detaining will prove the most effective and expeditious which makes use of manacles and fetters, i.e lays hold and works upon matter in the extremist degree”.

These words remind me of the CERN particle accelerator in Switzerland with its huge magnetic forces.

According to the Perennial Tradition, we are consciousness fallen into matter. Aryan civilizations’ creation of technology, Descarte’s “quantifying reductionism” and scientific materialism is a further involution, or sinking, into matter. Our consciousness delves deeper into the Matrix of matter, but I believe this to be Western civilization’s destiny and also our escape. Tradition also tells us that the switch from the dark age, the Kali Yuga, to the Golden Age, the Krita Yuga, is instantaneous. My own guess is that it could be realized with Faster-than-Light travel through the light-barrier, culminating in something like the light-show at the end of Kubrik’s 2001, or the sphere in Event Horizon. W.H. Muller’s 1995 book Polaria explores the esoteric and spiritual side of FTL travel. Of course it may be some other, at present unimaginable, transgression of technology, or spiritual discipline, that facilitates the next stage of our evolution. But when we do this, we can be sure we become something beyond human. An effect of FTL travel is that the traveller exists in all places at all times, which is one of the definitions of a God.
In the famous words of Nietzsche, "Man is a rope, tied between beast and overman--a rope over an abyss...
What is great in man is that he is a bridge and not an end: what can be loved in man is that he is an overture and a going under...”

Now for the political structure…why an Imperium

Politics is about the direction we want our civilization to grow, and the structures necessary to ensure that growth. For that, I think it’s best to read Indo-Europeanists such as Mircea Eliade, Carl Jung, Alain Danielou and Georges Dumezil who have studied archetypal recurring patterns of Aryan power and Jean Markele who emphasises the importance of synthesis and movement in the Ancient Celtic worldview, similar to Heraclitus.

Aryan Imperium must be a synthesis of that ultimate political polarity – a stable, authoritarian Imperium (represented by Ice) v freedom, creative imagination and the Italian Futurist Marinetti’s idea of speed (all of which can all be characterized as Fire). It needs to be a resolution between settler v nomads, mountain men v mariners. To translate into mythological terms it’s the combination of Muspellheim v Nifleheim which leads to the creation of Ymir, father of Gods and Giants.

Integral to any Aryan Imperium worthy of the name is the Tripartite structure. Alby Stone, another Indo-Europeanist, best describes this trifunctional society as analogous to the human body, the different qualities represented by head, arms and torso.

My own suggestion is this: Emperor rules, in consultation with a Round Table of 12 advisors (like the 12 Olympian Gods or the 12 high Gods of Asgard). All posts are elected and, once elected, last for life. Election is open to all Aryans who have completed a voluntary, time-unspecified service of duty to the State (e.g. in the Armed Forces or hospitals). There’s more about a future volunteerist state in Robert Heinlein’s STARSHIP TROOPERS.

Another useful political concept, current in the European Union but originally developed by the Catholic Church Is Subsidiarity. The tenet holds that nothing should be done by a larger and more complex organization which can be done as well by a smaller and simpler organisation.

The Imperium has as its primary directive the evolution and progress of Aryan mankind, both as an individual and as a species. The Empire collectively is committed to scientific and technical innovation; evolution of the Overman, and guarantees to provide and maintain all platforms necessary for its development: unlimited resources for scientific research and freedom of speech, education and access to participate encouraged for all Aryans.

You can have an authoritarian State which exhorts free speech; the two are not incompatible. The Kaiserreich is good example. Bismark maintained the noble German tradition of Gedankenfreiheit by letting newspapers publish whatever they wanted and the State could only act retrospectively by suing in the courts.

I think that all Aryans in the Imperium will be freer than ever before, more free possibly than we can imagine. The whole objective of the Imperium is to liberate the creative imagination of each individual, thereby adding their own unique contribution to the ever-expanding empire. Industrial automation is the technological foundation for this ultimate state of freedom.

The principal and defining social relationship of the Imperium is the comrade. Men and women are encouraged to treat each other as brother and sister, homosexuality would be no more remarkable than it was in pagan Europe. We need a re-balancing of the interests of the nation and race against those of the nuclear family. I believe Heinrich Schurtz, author of Alterklassen und Mannerbunde is right, “Schurtz emphasised that the social impulse, the drive to create communities and political institutions, was reserved only to the male. The ‘instinctive sympathy’ between men was the precondition for social life”. Julius Evola, Adolf Brand and Hans Bluher all developed ideas about how the domestic, feminine, comfortable, later bourgeois nuclear family is antithetical to Aryan achievement. For the meantime, all of Europe faces de-population, and replacement by non-Aryans. I’ve read about towns in Germany that have managed to reverse the trend by giving tax-breaks and other encouragements to larger families. Abortion-on-demand of white babies must be outlawed across the continent. The so-called “pensions crisis” is yet another lie designed to keep the public cowered while the Establishment promotes third world immigration. It is easily solved with automation and a planned economy.

A word about language Proto-Indo-European, which scholars have been researching for 150 years now, is the ideal future Lingua Franca, with national languages taught in schools as second languages. Nearly all modern languages in Europe evolved from Indo-European, so not only would we learn the roots and thought processes involved in our own language, but we’d also be learning it for all European languages, making them easier to speak.

Territorial Extent

Eurasia
I imagine an Aryan Imperium stretching from Reykjavik to Vladivostok, including the whole of the European continent, Russia and Siberia. In particular, Aryan Futurists recognize the brutality of Hitlerism against our Slav brothers, and the continual undermining of the Slavic folk by the Western plutocracies and alien infiltration. There are 3 reasons why I feel especially optimistic about Russia and eastern Europe. Firstly, the region has a history of Aryan spirituality and culture going back millennia. Secondly, the region has the greatest concentration anywhere of undiluted Aryans. Thirdly, recent political developments, such as the increasing popularity of Eurasianism and National Bolshevism demonstrate burgeoning biocultural, racial and cultural awareness. Russia must be allowed to take the leading role as a nation in building the Imperium, if she so desires.
From north to south, we can imagine an Aryan homeland extending southward from the North Pole to around 34-36 degrees latitude. That would include Gibraltar, Malta, Crete and Cyprus, but exclude Jerusalem and the Middle East. (I believe this particular exclusion is vital, but others may disagree). The only salient non-Aryan civilizations that extend a little north of this latitude are the Oriental civilizations of China, Korea and Japan. Oriental civilization has a separate destiny from that of the West, we are on different roads, so we should secure their borders with the Imperium amicably, and leave them to their own fate.

Arctic Citadel
To avoid any lingering petty nationalist quarrels, a new capital city can be built in geodesic orbit above the North Pole. Hyperborean Aryans have a prior historic claim to the North Pole (Thule), demonstrated by Carl Jung and Mircea Eliade.

Space above the Polar Axis to be reserved for a 4-square castellated crystal space city, as envisaged in Aryan mythology from Arianrhod’s Fort in Celtic folklore to Mount Meru in Hinduism.
“If you build it, they will come”. You may recognize this quote from Field of Dreams. What I mean by it - is that a civilization needs a goal, a destination to mobilize around in order to demonstrate it’s true greatness. For the Romans it was Pax Augustus and the Golden Age celebrated by Virgil, for the Ancient Egyptians the building of the pyramids, and for the Germans a 1,000 year empire. Goethe tells us that great events cast their shadow before them, and I believe the Aryan mythos, which locates the gods of Asgard at the North Pole, is the shadow of that great event that still lies before us. That event is the transformation of Man into God.

Ringing the Arctic Ocean is a highly desirable consequence of a Eurasian, and eventually circumpolar, Aryan Imperium. If the Arctic was ice-free, then it would have by far the busiest shipping lanes in the world, and correspondingly massive ports and cities. All the other oceans and seas in the world would become backwaters. European sailors have always understood the need for Arctic trade, from the Vikings and Hanseatic League to the adventurers searching for a Northwest passage from the 15th to 19th centuries.

Politically and ideologically, the United States is the catastrophic result of a failed liberal-humanist experiment by 18th century Europeans. Even worse, many of the original white settlers had been driven out of Europe because of their extreme Christian fundamentalism…a fundamentalism that lives on today in the Red Republican states that voted for George W. Bush, and also in their Christian Identity nationalist groups.

If Canada and at least parts of the United States opt to join the Imperium, then we surround the Arctic Ocean completely and it becomes a “mare nostrum” (our sea) in the same way that the Mediterranean became “mare nostrum” for the Romans.

The scientific consensus is that the Arctic will be ice-free by the end of the century, but I’d like to think that by 2100 our technology would have made maritime navigation irrelevant, except for hobbyists; instead we can use airships and inter-continental tunnels for transport.

The Polar Axis City will be the launch-pad for the Aryan Space Empire (which happily has the acronym ASE=from race of Germanic Gods), incorporating the terrestrial Imperium stretching across Eurasia and the Arctic, additional strategic locations on Earth, especially on the Equator for satellite launches/ space elevators, and of course any planets, satellites, planetary systems and regions of space that we occupy. Equatorial bases would be negotiated in friendly consultation with Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Latin Americans and any other culture that survives the collapse of the plutocratic New World Order.
GREEN – HOW TO GET THERE

Political Futurist Party September 1918 Rome “intuits present needs and articulates precisely the consciousness of the whole race in its purging revolutionary momentum. The party can be joined by all Italians, men or women, of any class or age, even if artistic and literary concepts are beyond them”.

How to get there. Our great advantage is that people know this stuff instinctively through what Michael Moynihan has called meta-genetics. Georges Sorel said we need a myth to mobilize the folk, and I say what better myth than the true one, the ones that speak of Aryan origins and destiny, the one that every Aryan knows in their blood.

The French post-modernist Paul Virilo has emphasised the importance of being physically in a place to force change, in his book Speed and Politics. It’s what he calls Dromology, getting people onto the streets, as in the French Revolution or unemployed Germans after 1929-30.

I believe the next step would be to establish “Aryan cultural centres” in the heart of every town and city across the continent. These centres would be much more than just offices – they would have barrack dormitories, bars, sports facilities, libraries, temples or a pantheon to all the Aryan gods (which could also be used as a bar), as well as offices with IT for communications/ propaganda. Rural Cultural centres could provide their urban counterparts with free, organic food, in exchange for new recruits and their labour. I think it’s better to concentrate resources on that sort of practical project (as the Arktion Federation is doing with the Jomsburg farm project), rather than wasting resources on elections and lost deposits. After all, south London has some sort of immigrant legal rights drop-in shop or refugee community centre in every high street, but nothing for the people who built this city.

The function of these cultural centres is to promote Aryan culture, in its broadest sense, and defend our people. Oswald Mosley had something similar in the 1930s (sadly without the pagan temples!) which he called “Black Houses”:

“In the autumn of 1933 it [the B.U.F.] acquired the lease of Whiteland Teachers Training College in the King’s Road, Chelsea, which became know as Black House. It was a cross between an administrative headquarters, social club and army camp. Other Black Houses in the main urban centres were formed on the same model. In the original one, hundreds of members of I Squad or the London Defence Force slept, ate and lived to the sound of the bugle summoning them for reveille (re-valley) meal-times, parades and lights out. They trained in gymnastics, boxing and judo. They roared out in their military-looking vans to defend speakers or rescue them in trouble.”

Instead of judo, I’d suggest some native martial art as researched by Pennick and others.

Recruitment: sci-fi conventions, teenage games magazines, gay scene

I think it’s very important, not just symbolically, that these meeting are taking place in the heart of the parasitic Leviathan, a founder-capital of the New World Order and home to Winston Churchill and the Rothschilds. As you know, London is one of the citadels of multi-racism, global capitalism and everything we hate, and has been for centuries, since Henry VIII, Oliver Cromwell and especially since the 1688 Glorious Revolution and the foundation of the Bank of England. My feeling is if a strong, intelligent, positive Aryan movement can start here and succeed, under the noses of our foes, then it can succeed anywhere.

Finally, I’d like to end with a quote from Ortega y Gasset, “Europeans do not know how to live unless they are engaged in some great enterprise. When this is lacking, they grow petty and feeble and their souls disintegrate.”

Aryan Futurism is for everyone who feels the fire of Aryan aspiration and achievement in their blood. Above all, it is about action for the future.

Aryan Origins
The correspondence below with the National Futurist leader Constantin von Hoffmeister outlines my thoughts on our origins. Yes, I’ve read WAFFEN-SS VERSUS ARYANS. Here’s why I think it’s wrong:

NO ARYAN INVASION OF EUROPE – ARYANS EVOLVED IN EUROPE

Aryans are the branch of mankind that evolved from Cro-Magnons (Homo Sapiens Sapiens). If you accept the diffusionist model of human evolution, then Aryans are the branch of mankind that evolved separately on the western peninsular of the Eurasian continent. These Cro-Magnons represent a quantum leap in evolution; we were the first to develop the creative imagination, as seen in cave art in the south of France and Spain from about 30 millennia ago. We were the first to create sculptured ivory and stone, and our weapons and other technologies underwent a corresponding step-change in sophistication. Cro-Magnons created the Aurignacian culture, which later developed into the Megalithic civilization of the western Eurasian seaboard. Whether Cro-Magnons owe their superior intelligence to intermixing with humans already living in that area (i.e. Neanderthals) has yet to be conclusively determined.
Take a look at a map of Eurasia, bearing in mind that humans of the time were essentially coastal creatures. You don’t have to accept the whole of the Aquatic Ape theory, although it’s increasingly scientifically plausible, in order to understand the advantages for our ancestors of living by the sea. What you see in Europe is a land with lots of coast-lines, islands, peninsulas sticking into the ocean, and easy access to the lush interior (i.e. the north European plain) via broad, well-drained rivers (even broader at the end of the last Ice Age). These conditions were ideal for the evolution of our early ancestors, unlike the deserts, mountains and scrubland that separate western Eurasia from Africa and eastern Eurasia. The only other part of the Eurasian land-mass with comparably favourable conditions for humans is the great northern plain of China with access to the coast via huge rivers flowing east and south-east to the Pacific. Guess what – that’s exactly where the Oriental/ Mongol race of humans evolved, and later where we find the very first evidence of Chinese civilization.
As ice retreated from Europe 10,000 years ago, these former-Cro-Magnons from France and Spain spread northward and eastward as far as Russia, Ukraine, Scandinavia etc.. They colonized and exploited the banks of the Rhine, Danube, Dnepr, Don and Volga so successfully that waves of population in turn went back to the western coasts, unifying the Aurignacian culture again; the process has been going on ever since and evidence of Mesolithic and Neolithic trade right across the continent of Europe is prolific. People living in Russia were a part of this western Eurasian diffusionist evolution, people who later the Greeks and Romans knew as Scythians and Slavs. It was these people (“Cardial” civilization) who developed farming, urban life and writing in Viols-le-Fort, Languedoc, France and surrounding regions, including Malta, from around 10,000 years ago. Many of these earliest costal towns were subsequently inundated as sea-levels rose dramatically at the end of the last Ice Age. Later, these same people developed and recorded their pantheons, social structure, weltanschauung, which were closely-related, if not the same, and which was later classified as Indo-European, or Aryan.

Of course, other parts of the world saw different types of human emerge: the previously-mentioned Oriental Mongols, and (of particular relevance to later European history) the Semites in Arabia and Africa. An argument can be made for saying Semites might not just be a separate civilization, but a separate species of humanity with their own Neanderthal or non-Sapiens-Sapiens antecedents.

There never was an Aryan invasion of Europe. We have always been here, at least since Homo Sapiens Sapiens (Cro-Magnons). Genetic tests of skeletons 10,000 years old from Cheddar Gorge, England, show contemporary inhabitants to be descendants. “Proto-Europeans” were as Aryan as you or me. For more about this, see Colin Renfrew’s LANGUAGE AND HISTORY. All we’ve had in Europe is continual development for c30-40,000 years: Perigordian, Aurignacian, Solutrean, Magdalenian, Azilian (marking the end of the last ice age), Cardial, (start of Neolithic Age: farming, domestication), Mesolithic, Neolithic (Carnac, Orkneys, Malta, Iberia, Stonehenge etc.) and “Aryan” when Europeans started to record their myths etc., in the Bronze/ Heroic Age. Later, Aryans developed philosophy, literature, mathematics, music, art, science and technology to further express the creative imagination of the race.

Aryan is best thought of as a level of consciousness – the level of consciousness Cro-Magnons had reached when pre-history turned into history, and we started to write. European Heroic Age myths across the continent, such as the Iliad and Eddas, all indicate a common origin. Because all Europeans were descended from Cro-Magons and shared the same language, culture and worldview, then it’s unsurprising that the later tribes of Slavs, Teutons, Italics and Celts should have an “Aryan” language, social and mythological structure.

GOD OF CONSCIOUSNESS AND WRITING IS AN ARYAN GOD

The divine archetype called Odin/ Woden exists in ALL Aryan pantheons, not just in Germanic/ Teutonic mythology. He is Lugus/ Lugh with Celts, Mercury/ Hermes with Italics/Latins/Greeks, Volos with the Slavs (Orthodoxized as St. Nicholas), Velinas/ Patollus with the Balts etc. For more, read Georges Dumezil or any Indo-Europeanist since Dumezil.

LOKI

Presently, Loki is bound to a rock, struggling against the dripping venom of a poisonous snake, but the day he is free is Ragnarok, Gotterdammerung when Asgard and Midgard are destroyed and rise anew. Loki represents the dynamic of evolution, and He is a catalyst, related to Prometheus and Faust in his relationship to mankind.
On another matter. As you well know, the West is increasingly illegalizing freedom of thought and speech. Tony Blair’s Nu Labor introduced a bill into Parliament yesterday which would outlaw freedom of expression against religion (e.g. Judaism, Christianity, Islam). I’ve read that there’s still respect for the idea of freedom of speech in Russia. Do you think that if someone fell foul of our laws, then they would be able to apply for political asylum in Russia?! How successful do you think that application would be? Don’t you think it’s hugely ironic, after all those old black&white Cold-War spy movies, that it’s the West that has a drab, stupefied, cowered population?

Saw your photo on the Athenaeum site – very dashing! I can’t read Russian but the title is promising.
I noticed that RevDevalez on the New Right newsgroup has already responded to your ARYANS: KILLERS DURING SUNSET essay pointing out that the people you (and Marija Gimbutas, Ralph Metzner etc. – you’re in good company) keep endearingly referring to as “indigenous Europeans” or “Old Europeans” were the same people as the Aryans.
I concur with RevDevalez. All the most recent genetic and archeological evidence that I’ve read suggests that the southern Russian steppes were initially colonized from the west. Indeed, this is the only conclusion compatible with theories about the end of the last Ice Age, the retreat of the glaciers and our costal “aquatic ape” origins. Because of the dramatically different environment, early European farmers were forced to adapt to a more nomadic existence in the vast, empty plains. This may account for some of the cultural constants that we have come to associate with an Aryan worldview; for example, the importance of horses. It may even have contributed to the Aryan, Faustian spirit of space, limitlessness and infinity, qualities it shares with the American West frontier of the Nineteenth Century.

Some of these inherent traits of Europeans may have found first expression and manifestation on the open grasslands north and east of the Black Sea, but that makes them no less European for that. As I said in my ARYAN ORIGINS essay, Aryan is a name given to a certain cultural pattern that emerged in the Bronze Age, significantly developed by Europeans (descendents of Cro-Magnon cave-painters of southern France and Iberia) in southern Russia.
“It is possible that once the new pastoralist economy of the steppes was established, the arable/ steppe boundary may have shifted some way westward. What may have been in reality an evolution from mixed farming to pastoralism in that area could thus appear in the archaeological record as a westward movement. These cultural innovations spread back westward into central and western Europe, but as Colin Renfrew points out, there need never have been an invasion (unlike the Aryan invasion of India, which was an incursion into a pre-existing civilization racially and culturally unrelated).

I think a good analogy would be with the spread of railroads across Europe.

An archaeologist in the far future, assuming he had no written record, would discover the earliest railroads, from the 1830s, located in England only. He would see that by the 1870s the whole continent was covered in a tight network of railroads, with single threads stretching into Asia and Africa. Along the European railroads, he might find some old steam engines, with writing like “Richard Garrett & Sons” or “Duncan & Grant – Belgium” stamped on the side. At railway termini across Europe he would see stone buildings with “Bristol Hotel” just legible above their ruined doorways. He might even come across the Thyssen family mausoleum, compare the DNA with that of Robert Stephenson in Westminster Abbey, and conclude that they were the same race! Our future archaeologist might reasonably conclude that during the Nineteenth Century, England successfully conquered the whole continent!
But railways spread quickly in Europe because Europeans were ready for railways. If George Stephenson hadn’t developed the locomotive, then someone else in England, or northwest Europe, would have done within the following decade. “None of these developments showed any signs of a ‘forced’ growth imposed from outside. On the contrary, they were building on the foundation of centuries of slow accumulation of capital, technical skills, capitalistic attitudes and wage labour.” – European Economic Integration, Sidney Pollard.

The same is true, I believe, with the Aryan hypothesis; it should be considered as a continent-wide cultural shift, a crystallization of mythology, politics, technics and aesthetics. It is like the industrial and scientific revolutions, or the Renaissance, or Classical civilization itself, only more significant and profound because it is the very first pan-European cultural development that we know about in some detail. The fact is that people have been moving about, invading each other, within Europe, for millennia, but that movement makes no difference to our overall genetic make-up as Aryan Europeans.

Islam and Free Speech
Below is an open letter that I sent to the gay press at the end of 2005;the only people to publish it to date are Third Way:

I’m mighty concerned about Tony Blair and Nu Labour’s proposed religious hate laws. I think it’s relevant to all European homosexuals because human rights pro-multi-cultural lawyers will try to enact similar legislation across the continent. I’m no lawyer, so perhaps someone who knows could answer the following questions:

Islam advocates execution for practicing homosexuals. Will it be illegal for me to say that, to me, Islam is a “hateful” religion (that is, a religion full of hate, or that excites hatred, directed against homosexuals)? Will I be able to say that Muslims, because they follow a religion that preaches hatred of homosexuals, are themselves “hateful” (that is, full of hate directed against homosexuals)?

Could a Muslim argue that the killing of homosexuals is not an act of hatred but simply the dispassionate execution of the will of Allah, maybe even an act of love? Something like the “love the sinner, hate the sin” line we get from fundie Christians pontificating about homosexuality. So that even if he wants to kill me, he still doesn’t hate me.

Alternatively, less ambiguously and more directly, will it be illegal for me to say that I hate Islam because it is monotheistic, and to me monotheism is a philosophical anathema, the antithesis of all that’s best in European culture? Or because of Islam’s misogyny? By implication, could I say the same thing about individual adult Muslims since religion, unlike race, is a matter of volition? So will it be illegal for me to state that I hate Muslims because they are monotheistic, or misogynistic, or because they have as adults deliberately abandoned their faculties of reasoning in order to submit to Allah?

In concurrence with Western philosophy since Plato and Aristotle, I accept that the ability to reason is a quality that distinguishes man from animals. To abandon reason is to make man more bestial, which to my mind is hateful.

In short, will I be able to say that I hate Islam because Islam hates me? Not just because of my homosexuality, but because I am a Euro-pagan to boot; an infidel and idolater in their rather emotive language, which gives them even more reason to want me dead. Can I say what I think of them, and why?

Finally, if Blair’s legislation is passed, would this posting be illegal? The Home Office guidance notes on the new bill contains the following. “It only applies to words, behaviour, written material, recordings or programmes that are threatening, abusive or insulting. Second, the material must be intended to, or likely to, stir up racial or religious hatred. Hatred is a strong term and the offences will not encompass material that just stirs up ridicule or prejudice or causes offence. Further, what must be stirred up is hatred of a group of persons defined by their religious beliefs and not hatred of the religion itself. Therefore, legitimate discussion, criticism, or expressions of antipathy or dislike of particular religions or their adherents will not be caught by the offence”.

If I receive no response, then I will assume all the activists on this list are too busy shoring-up the crumbling bastions of multi-culturalism or otherwise subverting European civilization, to answer some urgent, authentic questions from an authentic European.

Is there some kind of malignant consciousness trapped or buried somewhere beneath the deserts where Asia and Africa meet, a warped spirit that not only invades the minds of peoples living locally, and beyond, but can even blight the very physical environment?

To see images from the area - the bleached, rocky scrubland, deserted and ruined Crusader forts, fly-blown refugee camps - is to be reminded of the worst images from the Wasteland of the Arthurian cycle. Where other regions might have a lake of waterfowl and sedge at its heart, this strange vortex has the Dead Sea, the below-sea-level toxic lagoon which periodically vomits globules of black asphalt. The surrounding dirt and air seems to ooze a preternatural evil, vividly evoked in Holman Hunt’s lurid, putrid colouring of ‘The Scapegoat’.

(Cheap oil is one of the Middle East’s “gifts” to the world. Without cheap oil and its imperial and corporate pushers, Western civilization would have learnt to develop without the hazardous privately-owned motor car and its filthy internal combustion engine. Cities in Britain would have developed with far denser populations near their centres who relied exclusively on public transport, encouraging a less individualistic and a more collectivist society. Without cheap oil, research and investment into alternative, sustainable energy generation would have started far sooner).

The Middle East is home to the world’s three great monotheistic religions, Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Monotheistic, universalist, totalitarian, messianic, closed systems of thought that promote uncritical faith in sexist and homophobic holy scripture. The three Abrahamic religions, their regulations against free enquiry, free thought and rationality represent the opposite to Aryan European values.

Many great European thinkers including Hegel, Toynbee and Evola have linked the inception of monotheistic thinking to the decay of the Semitic universal state. All agree that the area is littered with previous (failed) cycles of civilization. Hegel in 1830: “The East itself, when by degrees enthusiasm had vanished, sunk into the grossest vice. The most hideous passions became dominant, and as sensual enjoyment was sanctioned in the first form which Mahometan doctrine assumed, and was exhibited as a reward for the faithful in Paradise, it took the place of fanaticism. At present, driven back into its Asiatic and African quarters, and tolerated only in one corner of Europe through the jealousy of Christian powers, Islam has long vanished from the stage of history at large, and has retreated into Oriental ease and repose”.

Julius Evola: “The Diaspora, or the scattering of the Jewish People, corresponded to the by-products of the spiritual dissolution of a cycle that did not have a ‘heroic’ restoration and in which some sort of inner fracture promoted processes of an antitraditional character. There are ancient traditions according to which Typhon, a demon opposed to the solar God, was father of the Hebrews; various Gnostic authors considered the Hebrew god as one of Typhon’s creatures. These are references to a demonic spirit characterized by a constant restlessness, by an obscure contamination, and by a latent revolt of the inferior elements.”

Toynbee, the most liberal, says: “On closer inspection we can also discern what appear to be fossilized relics of similar societies now extinct, namely: one set including the Monophysite Christians of Armenia, Mesopotamia, Egypt and Abyssinia and the Nestorian Christians of Kurdistan and ex-Nestorians in Malabar, as well as the Jews and Parsees…At the present day the Parsees, like the Jews, survive as a mere ‘diaspora’; and the petrified religions which so potently hold the scattered members of the two communities together have lost their message to mankind, and hardened into fossils of the extinct Syriac Society”.

Hellenistic and later Western civilizations have quite separate origins derived from a classic Indo-European worldview, mythology and social structure which were all developed in the Eurasian forests, water meadows and steppes many hundreds of years ago, and many hundreds of miles from the scorched sands of Arabia. The idea of “revealed” truth from a figure such as Moses, Jesus Christ or Mohammed is quite alien to the Aryan mind with its need for logic and an aesthetic which valued above all truth, the real world, as sublime.

From the Middle East monotheism arose like a dark cloud first to dim the brilliance of the pagan Roman empire with morbid Christianity, and later to obscure the remaining Hellenistic outposts and Persian Empire with bloodthirsty Islam. Their intolerant, irrational dogmas caused the death of untold millions over the centuries. For the first time Europeans were infected with an evangelical zeal to conquer the rest of the world for Jesus Christ. Europe’s first overseas colony, bloodily won in the early Crusades, was Frankish Outremer with its capital at Jerusalem. When the Crusader kingdom fell, Europe instead looked westward, resulting in the conversion to Catholicism of the Aztecs and Incas and the genocide by Puritans of the Indians of the North American plains. Similarly, Arabs were inspired by the monotheism of Mohammed to unite and conquer from Spain to south east Asia.

The land between the Mediterranean and the Persian Gulf has continually been soaked in blood, a cockpit for colliding empires, a pattern that continues into the present in a crescent from Gaza to Basra. The first battle of Megiddo, the plain north of Jerusalem designated in the ‘Apocalypse of John’ as Armageddon, the site of the ultimate battle of good versus evil, took place in 1482bce, when Pharaoh Tuthmosis III crushed the rebellion of the king of Qadesh and his Syrio-Hittite-Canaanite allies. According to David Hatcher Childress “And so ended the first battle of Armageddon, a decisive battle between Egypt in the west and the Syrian-Lebanese foes of the Hittite Confederacy. So important was this battle in ancient times that it was well-remembered by all the people of the ancient Middle East, and the fall of the fortress of Megiddo was a turning point in the history of the region”. A second battle of Megiddo in 609bce resulted in the defeat and death of King Josiah of Judah by Pharaoh Necho II, and a third, in 1918 when General E.H. Allenby defeated the Turks, led to the fracturing and re-assembling the whole of western Asia along lines more favourable to the Western plutocracies.

The region’s eternal dirge of disillusion, decay and death now tolls around the planet. Despite decades of effort, the religious, ethnic and spiritual crisis has become more and more desperate. The Israeli nuclear facility at Dimona is vulnerable to bombardment from Syria, once Russia completes the sale of its Iskander missile system to Damascus. Dimona is in the Negev desert, not far from the Dead Sea, and not far from the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah whose fiery destruction is so gleefully recounted in the Old Testament.

Viewed from Northwestern Europe, the Middle East lies in a particularly inauspicious direction. North in traditional Aryan lore is the home of the Polar Gods, of Asgard, the ever-spinning fort of Caer Arianrhod and Mount Meru the Mountain of Heaven. West is associated with the Vanir gods of fertility, success, oceanic imagination and the limitless horizon of beyond. But Southeast is where some of the most destructive forces in the cosmos meet: Surtr, the fateful fire giant from the burning southern realm of Muspellheim with the Jotuns, the foes of the gods, from beyond Ironwood to the east.

Persistent local tradition abounds with stories of djinn, demon pits and entrances to Hell. One such gateway is at the bottom of a stone staircase that leads from King David’s tomb on Mount Zion. Another pit is under the stone bearing Mohammed’s footprint in the Dome of the Rock on Temple Mount. This is the same rock upon which Abraham was meant to sacrifice Isaac, and upon which the Ark of the Covenant was placed in Solomon’s original Temple. It is through the Knights Templar, masons and freemasons and others that symbols and patterns from the first temple of Solomon made their way into modern international finance.

H.P. Lovecraft was sensitive to emanations from the desert. Robert Turner says in The R’lyeh Text, “In his story The Nameless City [Weird Tales, November 1921] Lovecraft’s traveller discovers a hidden valley in the sands of the Arabian desert, and within the valley a ruined city ‘built before history began’. The mummified remains of a half-reptilian race reveal the city to be of pre-human origin and ancient frescoes indicate the existence of a further city concealed within a subterranean cavern beneath the ruins. Lin Carter points out that The Nameless City is now held to be the first of the stories that compromise the Cthulhu Mythos, and that it is here that we first learn of Abdul Alhazred [author of the Necronomicon, the leitmotiv of Lovecraft’s Mythos]. In several of the Mythos tales the mad Arab poet Alhazred is said to have visited the long vanished city of Irem; the City of Pillars mentioned in the Koran. The location, and even the definite existence of Irem has been a subject of debate amongst archaeologists for decades, but recently new evidence has come to light which almost certainly establishes the factual truth behind the legend. During February 1992 a newspaper article in The Independent [25.02.92] revealed that Nasa satellite photographs showed an ancient road running across a barren “empty quarter” of Arabia, which after much research led a team of American archaeologists to the site believed to be the ancient city of the Bedouins called Ubar, which T.E. Lawrence described as ‘the Atlantis of the Sands’. According to Bedouin folklore Ubar had been buried in the desert for over 1,500 years since its destruction. The city existed over 4000 bce and is now thought to lie beneath the town of Shis’r north-west of Salalah in Oman”. Sir Ranulph Fiennes certainly believed from the evidence that Irem/ Ubar, which uncannily resembles the immensely old, wind-swept cities of the Gobi desert described in William Burroughs’ Cities of the Red Night, to be one and the same.

It seems irrational to suggest that a malignant psychic force, independent of any human agency, could exist under the sands of the Middle East, a force that can wreak havoc throughout the region and across the world. But logical and systematic reasoning is itself a product of Aristotle and the philosophes of the Enlightenment, that is, a product of Aryan, Western, European civilization. Rationality does not encompass all of Aryan civilization, neither should we jump to quick conclusions about parts of the world that we can never truly understand in the same way as can its native inhabitants of thousands of years. Also, the Middle East, amongst other things, has been home to some of the most implacable foes of Aryan civilization. Europe is caught in a pincer movement stretching from Spain to the Caucasus and across over a thousand years in time, and now the internal security of Europe has never been more vulnerable. If there is such a thing as a psychic equivalent of nuclear waste, radiating corruption across the desert, there is no good reason why the locals should ever become fully conscious of it, let alone tell us in the West about it.

Until we can decide what it is exactly we are up against, it would be sensible to isolate Western civilization from the Middle East and throw a cordon sanitaire over the area. Naturally this would mean a complete reappraisal of Western energy needs as importing cheap oil from Arabia would no longer be an option. Instead, Europe could investigate oil supplies from Russia and the Caucasus, with the long-term necessary goal of European autarky. As for the Middle East itself, any future political re-structuring will be up to the people in the area. Perhaps we will be lucky enough to see the re-establishment of a Caliphate that is able to accommodate Jews and non-Muslims.

A final necessary step for Europe is to remove all Middle Eastern influences from Aryan civilization; a relatively easy task since monotheism, messianism etc are not core Western values but rather excresences on the Aryan body politic.

Pagan Aryan Magic
MAGIC

Magic is ur-technology using will, combined with structured ritual, creative imagination and higher consciousness. Once in this state of higher consciousness, the physical universe, Midgard, becomes malleable to will.

Will

This process is described in Germanic cosmogony (origins of the universe) with the three divine brothers Wotan, Vili and Ve, who are the first three gods and creators of mankind and the world (from Wer-ald, meaning “age of man” – another word for Midgard). These three brothers encapsulate the act of creation of whatever kind, by man as well as gods.

Wotan (aka Woden/ Odin) literally means to be ecstatic; as described by Adam of Bremen in the eleventh century, “Wodan id est furor” [Woden, that is to say fury]. The meaning of Wili is unchanged in most Teutonic languages (Will); while Ve means “apartness” – separate from the everyday world – with the implication of “sacredness”. Later, the Vikings would use the same word for their triangular-shaped sacred enclosures.

Altered Consciousness – WODANAZ

From clues contained in this blue-print, MANNERBUND and the Arktion Federation have devised rituals to progress the sacred destiny of Homo Europeanus. The quickest and easiest route to a state of higher consciousness is via sex and drugs. Of course, there are other methods e.g.: extreme mortification through asceticism, intense and prolonged meditation, chanting and shamanic drumming. But most of these methods are alien to modern (and indeed ancient) Europeans, whereas sex and drugs, above all alcohol, are like old friends – particularly for gay men on the scene.

Entheogens (hallucinogenic drugs) traditionally used by our ancestors include the fly agaric mushroom, ergot (base for LSD), hemp and the solanaceae containing atropine, such as mandrake, henbane, thornapple and deadly nightshade. Tne love affair between alcohol and the European imagination continues, as strong as ever, from Mother Russia to the Whisky Galore pubs of the Atlantic coast. As Bowie’s Thomas Newton character replies at the end of MAN WHO FELL TO EARTH when questioned about his drinking, “I see things”.

Soma

Aryan mythology abounds in references to magical, consciousness-altering drugs. In Germanic mythology it is called Odroerir (literally “Wonder-raiser” in Old Norse): the mead of poetic inspiration. This mead, brewed from the blood of Kvasir (the wisest of all creatures), was later stolen by Odin, taking the form of an eagle, from the Giants. Returning to Asgard with his booty, Odin allows a few drops of the precious liquid to fall to Earth to provide inspiration for his children on Midgard.

This myth bears a more-than-passing resemblance to the Greek tale of Zeus and Ganymede, which fuses the themes of drugs and homosexuality.

The Trojan prince Ganymede (from whom the Romans got the word “catamite”) is abducted by Zeus in the form of an eagle to become his loves and, most significantly, cup-bearer – the cup containing the magical drink ambrosia. Celts have their cauldron of regeneration, which with the coming of Xianity was transformed into the Holy Grail. But perhaps the most famous of these mythical psychedelic drug-drinks (thanks to Aldous Huxley’s BRAVE NEW WORLD) is Soma.

In the earliest surviving Aryan writings, the RIG VEDA (1500bce), Soma is a god and also a drink-sacrifice, and once again it is an eagle that brings Soma to the warrior god Indra. Sadly, the recipe for Soma is now lost.

Sleipner

Most modern homosexual men are oblivious to the power of sexual energy; they dissipate it in romantic love (not so bad) or, worse, empty hedonistic individualism – an extension of capitalist consumerism into the most basic of drives (“the meat market”). They are like fish swimming in a reservoir behind a hydro-electric dam, completely unaware of the immense power being generated around them. MANNERBUND will expand consciousness to give these men a higher perspective and transform their fish-consciousness into that of an eagle soaring above.

That sexual activity alters consciousness can be taken as given: Aleister Crowley and Austin Osman Spare are two of the most significant magicians of the modern era to recognize this, and based their magical philosophies on concentration of will at the moment of climax.

Climax launches the willed-intention into the Web of Wyrd, usually with the use of sigils or, as in the case with MANNERBUND, runes. Homosexual sex is of a different order from straight sex; on a mundane level it is never associated with re-production. On a more profound level it dispenses with mundane reality (male/ female). Unlike dualistic sex which is domestic, tame and aims at harmony through the balanced polarities of male and female, homosexual sex multiplies “sameness”, “oneness” and consequently is “wild”, singular, non-dual, more concentrated and therefore more powerful.

Our Germanic forebears were fully aware of the special power of same-sex magical orgasm. Loki, the blood-brother of Odin who represents the not-always-benevolent forces of cultural evolution and the five percent creative minority and culture-bearers of any civilization, is the most ambivalent of all mythological figures, a trickster like Hermes/ Mercury.

As a result of what is effectively a same-sex encounter, Loki produces Sleipnir, Odin’s sky-riding eight-legged horse. In the YNGALINGA SAGA, Odin himself is accused of being Ergi (usually interpreted as taking a passive role in homosexual sex) because of his use of Seidr, a type of intuitive magic usually practiced by women. Odin’s nick-name Jalkr – gelding – is also telling.

Sacred Ritual – VE

A magical intention is only effectively performed when the context is correct: right time, right people, right frame of mind, correct correspondences. This structure separates a magical act from a mundane act and makes it sacred (Ve). MANNERBUND believes that the best of all frameworks for rituals to renew and advance Western civilization are those based on our earliest archetypes and mythologies and which are embedded in our racial sub-conscious.

Uniquely Aryan archetypes include Polar Mythology, the Promethean spirit, the Faustian spirit, the ancient mystery of the Swastika, the Black Sun and the MANNERBUND. It is those archetypes that acted as a spur to the creation of Aryan civilization in the first place; to use any other system would be counter-productive and profoundly destructive.

New Right and Traditionalist speculations on futurism can be imagined as a spectrum, with the realists at the infra-red end and romantics and poets verging toward ultra-violet. A few, most notably the Italian Futurist Filippo Marinetti, fought not to be restricted to a certain point on that continuum; the man who could anticipate and wax lyrical about Twenty-First Century alternative technology, “the energy of distant winds and rebellious seas, transformed into millions of kilowatts by the genius of man, would be distributed everywhere…regulated by the the keyboards vibrating under the fingers of technicians” practising “the religion of extrinsic will and daily heroism” was the same man to head a campaign against Italians eating spaghetti in the early 1930s.

Germans took note of that initial bright blue burst of Futurism from Italy, but their futurism was to be of a more serious and sombre variety. Oswald Spengler stressed the inevitability of technology for Western civilization as a part of our Faustian spirit and destiny. Junger and Niekisch were more celebratory of the efficiency, dynamism and productive power of modern technology, and the possibilities it could open up for the individual and society. Meanwhile in practical, pragmatic England, at the red, realist end of the spectrum, Alexander Raven Thomson of the British Union of Fascists proposed a model for an automated civilization in part inspired by insect-hives.

After the War, while consumer capitalism was refining cybernetics, Traditionalists and Conservative Revolutionaries unsurprisingly stuck to the Romantic and metaphysical, ultra-violet side of the spectrum. James Madole was sufficiently distanced, geographically at least, from the catastrophe in Europe to influence the National Renaissance Party in the United States. Madole and his futurist ideas were themselves influenced by Theosophy and other occult sources. Later, in Europe and America, again in the ultra-violet, metaphysical realms, science-fiction writers like Michael X. Barton, Wilhelm Landig, Jean Parvulesco, Ernst Zundel and W.A. Harbinson developed a Nazi/ UFO/ Survival mythology, which extended to the Aryan Aldebaran thesis of Austrian science fiction in the 1990s. For a book at the outer limits of ultra-violet, try “The Black Sun: Montauk’s Nazi-Tibetan Connection” by Peter Noon. Philip K. Dick’s “The Man in the High Castle” is a (slightly) more mainstream science fiction novel about an Axis victory in World War Two, which contains some interesting ideas. Reflections of this UFO/ survival mythology can be caught in mainstream popular culture, such as in “The X-Files Movie” which depicts the aesthetic perfection of silver spacecraft gliding over the glittering purity of Antarctic glaciers and ice-mountains.

Just as Marinetti’s Futurism marked the start of the Twentieth Century, so the brilliant, emerald-green flash of Guillaume Faye’s Archeo-Futurism marked its end. Faye emerged from GRECE, which had always been pro-technology. “In the 20th century appeared the possibility for men to transform and dominate themselves, and to go much farther than simply adapting to their surroundings in forging their own environment; the prospect of biology, electronics, genetic engineering, telematics, astrophysics and space research announce the coming of the ‘third man’.”- GRECE statement.

Guillaume Faye and GRECE were of revolutionary significance because they were the first to systematically merge George Dumezil’s recent discoveries of Aryan tri-partite structuralism with contemporary politics and technology, to be made manifest in the pagan Imperium.

My own belief is that the idea of synthesis/ the Hegelian dialectic/ resolution of opposites into a singularity is at the heart of Aryan mythology and cosmogenesis. It is represented most often as the (North) Pole; Hlidskalf – Odin’s throne – above Asgard in the Eddas. I contend that Asgard/ Olympus/ Caer Arianrhod is a blueprint for the future.

Recent Futurisms, apart from Archeo-Futurism, include Constantin von Hoffmeister’s National Futurism www.newnation.com/Hoffmeister/index, the Surreal Futurism of Ars Vindex www.rosenoir.org/articles/surreal.php, and my own Aryan Futurism. As an Anglo, I’m typically at the redder end of the spectrum, concerned with nuts & bolts and organizing practicalities like the environment and economy. Just as Le Corbusier imagined homes as “machines for living” in an ideal (fascist) civilization, so I can imagine Paolo Soleri’s Arcologies (massive hermetically-sealed self-sufficient cities) as “machines for conquest”. Not for mundane territorial expansion, but for the ultimate conquest of Space and Time.

Futurism and Progress

In his “Age of Ideologies” (1982) Karl Dietrich Bracher argues that since the Enlightenment, two opposing ideas of progress have fought it out in Europe: progress as freedom versus progress as power. Generally, liberals and leftists supported the idea of progress as freedom, while Hegel and thinkers on the right took the opposite view.

Freedom is a tricky, ambiguous word. A man can be free “from” the material world, i.e. live as an ascetic hermit, or a Buddhist who has renounced desire. Alternatively, a man can be free “to” the material world, meaning he has access to everything material, but everything material has access – purchase – to the man. The man becomes a free offerer, and a free offer, in the supermarket of life.

Power has no such ambiguity; a man can only have power “over” the material world. One aspect of power is the ability to manipulate matter in accordance with will, which is one of the essential components of the Faustian spirit and the basis of Futurism.

Finally, some of the liberal and universalist futurists still occasionally have some useful ideas, despite their mistaking our particular European industrial civilization for a universal civilization. H.G. Wells (especially in “Shape of Things to Come”), Arthur C. Clarke and the Catholic theologian Teilhard de Chardin all have interesting ideas concerning evolution, amongst other things, which can be adapted to New Right metapolitics.

Hadrian and China
In the year 124ce Hadrian’s glittering Imperial procession reached the easternmost province of the empire, Bithynia on the Black Sea. At the city of Trapezus (modern day Trabzon in Turkey, near the border with Georgia) he erected a monument to the good luck and prosperity of the town. Trapezus was a successful tunny-fishing and trading port, so Hadrian built a new harbour and surmounted his monument with a large gilded copper fish. However, if instead he had carried on building, higher and higher, he would have become cognisant of a remarkable fact.

As more and more of the Eurasian continent came into his view, spreading out for hundreds of miles below, he would have looked westward with satisfaction to the colourful patchwork of his own empire, a criss-cross of roads connecting market towns with marble citadels, walled frontier forts and shipping lanes free of pirates. But his knowledge of Alexander the Great’s expeditions and the subsequent trade in silks, incense and spices would not have prepared him for the shocking site to the east. For there, neatly balanced at the other end of the Eurasian continent to his own, was another empire which was almost a mirror- image of his own.

Hadrian’s shock would be complete were we to also equip the Emperor with a time-machine. In less than three hundred years, he would see the western half of his empire in turmoil; cities burning, forests encroaching, Saxons crossing the North Sea. Another two hundred years, and the eastern remnant of his empire is collapsing under the onslaught from Arabian desert tribes. Meanwhile, in the far east, the mirror-image oriental empire is calm, ordered and progressing, for as far and as long as he can see.

Hadrian left Trapezus with no such insight, and it is my contention that it is only very recently that historians and others have begun to understand and study the significance of the simultaneous emergence of manifest oriental and occidental civilizations. I will have more to say about this at the end of this essay. Happily, the Emperor did receive a revelation of another sort during his sojourn; it was in Bithynia that Hadrian met Antinous, his comrade, lover and life-partner.

At the time of Hadrian, the Roman and Chinese Han empires were both roughly the same size at around 4 million square kilometres each. Both were the same age, becoming recognizable empires at around the same time during the beginning of the second century bce, and both were centred on and exploited the main geographical feature of the region; for Rome the Mediterranean Sea and for the Han empire the great northern plain of China.

Most surprising of all, both empires were equivalent in population at about 60 million people each (approximately the population of the present-day United Kingdom) out of a total global population of perhaps quarter of a billion. As the Stanford ACME Project puts it, “2,000 years ago, about one-half of the human species was contained within two political systems, the Roman Empire in western Eurasia and the Han empire in eastern Eurasia. At no time since has such a large proportion of humankind been ruled by two governments.”

To understand the central conundrum, that is, why the occidental empire fell while the oriental empire continued to flourish into the present, is the task of the rest of this essay. Since both empires were the result of city states and smaller kingdoms merging mainly either through dynastic diplomacy or through military invasion, until finally being swallowed by the regional great power, it is necessary to examine the internal composition of each empire in turn.

Between 221-210bce the Qin state managed to unite the other six imperial states (Yan, Qi, Wei, Zhao, Hann and Chu), who had been fighting during the Warring States period (481-221bce), to create the Han empire. The Han empire continued to expand into it’s hinterland and lasted until 220ce, when it split into the Three Kingdoms. Previous to the Warring States period, the Spring and Autumn period (770-481bce) had witnessed the consolidation of around fifteen major feudal states into the previously mentioned seven imperial states.

What is essential about these feudal and imperial states in early China is that they were all homogenous, sharing a common origin and close racial and cultural affinities. According to Toynbee: “The fathers of the Sinic civilization do not seem to have differed in race from the peoples occupying the vast region to the south and south-west which extends from the Yellow River to the Brahmaputra and from the Tibetan Plateau to the China Sea. If certain members of that wide-spread race created a civilization while the rest remained culturally sterile, the explanation may be that a creative faculty, latent in all alike, was evoked in those particular members, and in those only, by the presentation of a challenge to which the rest did not happen to be exposed…none of the related peoples farther south, in the valley of the Yangtse, for example, where this civilization did not originate, can have had so hard a fight for life”.

The compositions and histories of the city states and kingdoms which were eventually to coalesce into the Hellenic universal state, i.e. the Roman Empire, were very different from those of China.

Prospects for a Hellenic European empire, as stable as China, started well with Aryan Greek colonization of the Aegean, Black and northern Mediterranean seas from the eighth century bce. The Battle of Chaeronea (338bce), when Alexander the Great of Macedon defeated the combined armies of Athens and Thebes, marked the most spectacular example to date of a core civilization, in this case Greece, being swallowed whole by a comparatively larger but closely-related nation on its periphery. Usually, members of the core civilization consider its bigger, more powerful neighbour to be semi-barbaric, despite sharing the same language and cultural roots. Ironically, Macedon was to suffer the same fate at the hands of Rome after the Battle of Pydna some 170 years later.
At Pydna the stakes were higher than Chaeronea because more territory was under dispute, nonetheless Rome shared the same racial and cultural origins as Macedonian Greece, in the same way that Macedonians themselves had originally shared a civilization with Athens and Thebes. So the military defeat of Macedon and the Greeks in 168bce signified not the defeat, but the consolidation of Hellenism. “Behind the greatness of Rome we can recognize forces of the heroic Aryan-Western cycle at work…While next to other peoples such as the Greeks and the Etruscans the Romans may at first have appeared as ‘barbarians’, their lack of ‘culture’ concealed (as in the case of some Germanic populations at the time of the barbarian invasions) an even older force that acted in a style compared to which all cultures of an urban type appear as decadent and disaggregative.” observes Julius Evola “Many people thought that the Roman world, in its imperial and pagan phase, signified the beginning of a new Golden Age, the king of which, Kronos, was believed to be living in a state of slumber in the Hyperborean region. During Augustus’s reign, the Sibylline prophecies announced the advent of a ‘solar’ king, a rex a coelo or ex sole missus, to which Horace seems to refer when he invokes the advent of Apollo, the Hyperborean god of the Golden Age. Virgil too seems to refer to this rex when he proclaims the imminent advent of a new Golden Age, of Apollo, and of heroes. Thus Augustus conceived his symbolic ‘filiation’ from Apollo; the phoenix, which is found in the figurations of Hadrian and of Antoninus, is in strict relation to this idea of a resurrection of the primordial age through the Roman Empire.”

The same fear of a vast, monolithic, “semi-barbaric” neighbour became evident to central Europeans from the Eighteenth Century onwards; this time the stakes could not be higher. For a while in the Twentieth Century it looked as if western Europe would be absorbed into a new Soviet imperium, and once again a core civilization would have been swallowed whole by a racially and culturally-related, but much bigger, neighbour.

Before the defeat of Macedon, five principal states struggled for supremacy in the Mediterranean: Rome, Macedon, the Seleucid empire, Carthage and Egypt. The Seleucid empire encompassed the Hellenic successor states to the Aryan Persian empire which Alexander had conquered. Carthage was the most powerful of a network of Phoenician Semitic colonies spreading along the southern Mediterranean from Palestine to Spain. It was the pinnacle of what Toynbee refers to as Syriac civilization. Egypt, well past its Golden Age by this time, was composed of a population of Semites and Africans with a recently-installed Hellenic ruling elite.

Rome triumphed, and was left with the task of managing the volatile, heterogeneous, multiracial population on all sides of the Mediterranean Sea and beyond. It was Rome’s singular misfortune, just after the official establishment of Pax Romana and the Empire, to have lost against the German chief Arminius (Hermann) of the Cherusci at the fateful Battle of Teutoburg (9ce). “Varus [the Roman commander] nearly wrecked the empire, since three legions with their general and all their officers and auxiliary forces, and the general staff, were massacred to a man. When the news reached Rome, Augustus ordered patrols of the city at night to prevent any rising” says Suetonius, before describing the devastating affect the defeat had on the emperor himself. The anguish of Augustus was understandable; had he secured the territory between the Rhine and the Elbe as was his plan prior to 9ce, a virgin vista would have offered itself up to Rome. Legionaries would have been standing at the threshold of the northern European plain, which opened up far beyond what one day would become Rus. Rome need no longer depend on essential grain from Africa if Ukraine could be brought into production. The local tribes, Scythes, Germans and Celts, and early Slavs shared a common kinship and heritage with Rome, unlike the diverse peoples on the southern and south-eastern shores of the Mediterranean, even if initially this kinship went unrecognized by either conquerors or conquered. We can be sure that, as in Italy and Gaul, a fruitful synthesis would have ensued. Rome for the first time would have been a truly European empire, not merely a Mediterranean empire, with a prospect of prosperity and security stretching far into the future.

China’s long era of unified harmonious administration came to a temporary halt at the close of the Han Dynasty and the succession of the Three Kingdoms (Wei, Shu and Wu 220-265ce). After a period of political, administrative and bureaucratic confusion the former Han empire was reconstituted during the Sui (581-618) and Tang (618-907) dynasties. Periods of strong centralized imperial dynastic rule alternated with more diffuse administrations. The only significant threat to China’s invulnerability came in 1206ce when Genghis Khan unified the Mongolian tribes into the Mongol Khanate, which allowed Kublai Khan to conquer the Chinese central plain in 1271ce. Kublai Khan went native, as is the way when pastoral nomad tribes invade and hold settled communities, so traditional life continued while the Middle Empire strengthened and expanded.

Even after multiple shocks and divisions China, because of its racial and cultural homogeneity, is able to reconstitute itself as effectively as the intelligent liquid metal which makes up the T-X Machine from Terminator III.

Rome’s initial decline can be ascribed to internal factors, weakening the borders sufficient to allowing the breach which ushered in the Age of Migrations, when once again race plays a decisive role in history. Whether Gibbon and Nietzsche are right, and the internal decline can be blamed on the introduction of Christianity, or whether more prosaic developments such as the hollowing-out of the productive classes, or economic stagnation, or the increasing laxity of stipulations required for Roman citizenship are to blame, there can be no doubt that Constantine, the first Christian emperor, dealt a decisive blow by dividing the empire in two, with a new capital city vaingloriously named after himself.

The western empire was overrun by German tribes from 410ce; Visigoths in Spain, Ostrogoths in Italy and central Europe and Franks in Gaul created enduring feudal successor states, culminating in a weak and limited restoration of empire by Charlemagne (742-814ce) on a part of Rome’s western territories. Thus the Rhineland, which in the previous (Hellenic) cycle of Aryan civilization had been a fiercely disputed frontier became the core for a new cycle of Aryan Western civilization.

The remaining eastern half of the empire with its capital at Constantinople came under increasing attack from Arab Muslim armies from the 630s ce onwards. 650ce marked the consolidation of Islam in the former Persian Sassinid empire, Arabs under Islam now controlled all the territories once claimed by Carthage, Egypt and the Seleucid empire. Of the five major powers that had been co-opted to create the Roman empire, only the two Aryan powers of Greece (once Macedon, now Byzantium) and Italy escaped Islamic hegemony. Any attempt to restore the Roman empire, with borders co-extensive to those at the time of Hadrian, was undesirable and besides impossible after 630ce with Mohammed ruling half of Arabia.

Thus the fall of Rome in 410ce proved to be permanent. Unlike China, its constituent elements were too diverse, too multiracial and multicultural to orchestrate a successful reprise. Attempts have been made with increasing frequency to unite the new Western civilization, but such a Western universal state (Imperium) remains for the future.

The Middle Kingdom or Middle Empire, along with its closely-related ancient oriental civilizations of Korea and Japan, is essentially autarkic. Historically, despite periods of exploration, China has displayed no appetite for global dominion. Napoleon is quoted as saying, “I recognize only two nations, the Occident, and the Orient” and however controversial his plans for Europe were, and continue to be, we can be sure that he had no serious plan to invade China. Even for the European most often portrayed as bent on world domination, Adolf Hitler, China was not a part of the programme. China is simply too massive, too old, too sophisticated, too culturally alien for any sensible European to even contemplate provoking. Although that has not stopped the Western plutocracies attempting in their greed-inspired stupidity to undermine Chinese sovereignty.

Comparisons between the ancient Mediterranean and China were studied and written about by Georg Hegel, Max Weber and Karl Wittfogel, and a number of specialist historical studies have appeared sporadically since the 1980s, but the subject has never received the proper attention that it deserves. According to ACME, “There is no intellectual justification for this persistent neglect…the comparative history of the largest agrarian empires of antiquity has attracted no attention at all. This deficit is only explicable with reference to academic specialization and language barriers.”

Might it be that a comparative study would reveal causes for the permanent fall of the Roman empire that the academic establishment, still wedded to discredited notions of multiculturalism and multiracism, would find too unpalatable to contemplate?

MANNERBUND AND HOMOSEXUALITY

MANNERBUND

Homosexuals have a long and honourable tradition as culture-bearers, and for fighting for and defending their tribes and later, nations. Now, when the survival and evolution of Western Civilization itself is at stake, the duty of all brave, aware, truthful and well-meaning gay men is self-evident. Homosexuals must act as white blood cells, ready to attack any invasion of the Western body politic.

Theory of Mannerbund

The consequences of the Neolithic agricultural revolution at first resulted in a mean and squalid life for Europeans. Archaeological studies of skeletons show that the first farmers had more nutrition-related diseases, and died younger, than their Paleolithic hunter-gatherer ancestors. Labour was intensive, people barely scratched a subsistence livelihood form the land, in contrast to hunter-gatherers who had spent little more than an hour a day working for all their requirements. Social organization was basic; nuclear families in huts wallowing in drudgery had no time for politics and higher civilization.

As farming techniques slowly improved, groups of men were able to escape the social domesticity and relentless toil to start to build alternative social and political structures that went beyond the basic demands of the nuclear family, reproduction and subsistence farming. A new, superior and more complex human organization became possible. Defence of the tribe against other marauding MANNERBUND was the chief priority, acting as a catalyst to further refinement.

As the radical Italian traditionalist Julius Evola states, “It was this MANNERBUND, in which the qualification of “man” had simultaneously an initiatory (i.e. sacred) and a warrior meaning, that wielded the power in the social group or clan. This MANNERBUND was characterized by special tasks and responsibilities; it was different from all other societies to which members of the tribe belonged. In this primordial scheme we find the fundamental ‘categories’ differentiating the political order from the ‘social’ order. First among these is a special chrism – namely, that proper to ‘man’ in the highest sense of the word (vir was the term employed in Roman times) and not merely a generic homo: this condition is marked by a spiritual breakthrough and by detachment from the naturalistic and vegetative plane. Its integration is power, the principle of command belonging to the MANNERBUND. We could rightfully see in this one of the ‘constants’ (i.e. basic ideas) that in very different applications, formulations and derivations are uniformly found in theory or, better, in the metaphysics of the State that was professed even by the greatest civilizations of the past.” (Julius Evola, MEN AMONG THE RUINS. Inner Traditions, Rochester, Vermont, USA 2002). So, the MANNERBUND provides the very foundation for Western civilization. Evola again, “Anti-militaristic democracy is the expression of ‘society’ which, with its material ideals of peace or, at most, of wars waged to maintain peace, is opposed to the political principle that is, to the principle of the MANNERBUND, the shaping force of the State that has always depended on a warrior or military element, that cherished less material ideals, such as honour and superiority.” (MEN AMONG THE RUINS, as above).

MANNERBUND IN MYTH AND LEGENDS

The earliest Aryan myths, from India to Ireland, mention homosexual warrior bands. In the Indian Rig Veda, composed after the Aryan invasions (c1500bce) and the earliest of Hindu sacred texts, they are called gandharvas (divine youths) and maruts (storm gods, sons of Rudra the ithyphallic proto-Siva). Maruts, although they “adorned themselves like women” are essential in helping Indra to destroy the Soma-demon Vrtra, performing “joyous deeds in the ecstasy of drinking Soma”.

Centaurs and Western Philosophy

Gandharvas are a band of semi-divine men united in initiation. They are sometimes described as having horses’ heads and men’s bodies, and are educators of heroes. They are like centaurs in Greek mythology with the bodies of horses and the torsos and heads of men (the repeated reference to horses shows the importance of this animal in all Aryan cultures).

Chiron is the most famous of the centaurs, who nurtures and educates the homosexual hero Achilles using the gifts of wisdom and bone-marrow. Bone-marrow, though nutritious, is more probably a metaphor for semen: both are white and contained within the phallic bone. Chiron was also tutor to Asklepios, who is the son of Apollo and the Hellenic god of medicine. It seems more than likely that the men-only academia and symposia (originally, drinking bouts) of the Classical period, frequented by Socrates, Plato and Aristotle, were vestiges of MANNERBUND customs.

Wolf Cults

That Greece had its own man-wolf cults (witness Lycaon, Tyrant of Arcadia – whence the word lycanthropy) is well-documented, but the pre-historical Classical legend relating most closely to the MANNERBUND is that of the Luperci. These were young men who gathered around Romulus and Remus, the founders of Rome who had been brought up by a she-wolf on the banks of the Tiber.

One of early Rome’s more notorious legends concerns Romulus leading his Luperci’s to the abduction and subsequent rape of the Sabine women. The women were from a neighbouring tribe; the rapes were planned not for fun but very specifically to increase the numbers of the Roman tribe. Centuries later, during the height of the Empire, the Lupercalia was still celebrated as a fertility festival by gangs of naked young men running through the streets of Rome brandishing whips.

Those deadly enemies of the Romans, the Germanic tribes east of the Rhine, shared at least one similarity with the Imperium; their wolf-cults. Called Ulfhednar (=”wolf-skins”, because that is what they wore), they were composed of cult bands of warriors dedicated to Woden (Odin), who himself keeps two wolves, Geri and Freki (=”greedy”).

As late as 930ce King Harald I Haarfager (=Fairhair) employed Ulfhednar as his bodyguards. The Ulfhednar were not alone. Other Teutonic warrior-fraternities that we still know about include the Boar-warriors (the Sutton Hoo helmet found in East Anglia and now in the British Museum is crowned with the image of a boar), who fought in wedge-shaped formations called Svinfylking, and most famously of all the Berserkir (=”Bear-shirts”, from whom we get they expression “going beserk” – because that’s what they did in battle, usually naked).

These brutal MANNERBUND left their legacy to medieval Europe in heraldry and in the names of their chiefs, later kings of the earliest European family of nations. Bearskin hats are still worn by royal guards in Britain and Denmark.

Another lasting legacy to Europe from the MANNERBUND are the runes; runes are believed to be first spread around Europe by a group known as the Heruli, which means literally “belonging to the marauding band”. “Heri” means marauder, and it is from that word that modern English gets the verbs “to harry” and “to harass”. The Heruli were accused by the contemporary early church of practicing homosexuality, and Connell O’Donovan and Kris Kershaw have shown how their naming practices, cultic and runic practices, origin myth and the homosociality of their warrior culture strongly indicate they belong within the tradition of Aryan MANNERBUND.

Of particular relevance to Teutonic MANNERBUND generally and homosexuality are the observations of Germanic scholar Margaret C. Ross (Hildr’s Ring: A Problem in the Ragnarsdrapa, Medieval Scandinavia 6. 1973) concerning the Jardarmen ceremony, a rite of blood-brotherhood in which young male initiates were passed under three strips of turf, referred to as “earth torques”. The torque is a choker-ring, popular with Celts and Teutons, and Ross says that as the Jardarmen rite is “connected with ceremonies of fostbroedralag (foster-brotherhood), one might suggest that its significance in the initiation ceremony was anal rather than vaginal in that the boys might have participated in a rite of communal sodomy to mark their entry into adult male society”.

Legendary Celtic Mannerbund

A Celtic king whose name betrays its totem-animal-based MANNERBUND origins is that most illustrious king of all: Arthur (from Artois – bear). Arthur had his Knights of the Round Table, an idealized model of Imperial democratic governance; the full homosexuality of which is brought out in Richard Wagner’s opera Parsifal.

Finn is the leader of a similar warrior-band, this time Irish; the Fena. As Peter Lambourn Wilson writes in PLOUGHING THE CLOUDS (City Light Books, San Francisco 1999), “The Fena are not as other mortals. Like Maruts and Gandharvas, we might call them demi-gods. Their feasting, drinking, hunting, brawling and fucking represent the raison d’etre of the Indo-European MANNERBUND – but their shape-shifting, their ambiguous relations with fairyland, and their poetic frenzies mark them as ‘divine youths’”.

Foster-brothers Cu Chulainn and Ferdia are two lovers in an Irish MANNERBUND who, due to the machinations of Queen Mebd of Connacht, are forced to fight on opposing sides. As Cu Chulainn says:

fast friend, forest companions
we made one bed and slept one sleep
in foreign lands after the fray.
Scathach’s pupils, two together,
we’d set forth to comb the forest.

After the first day of battle they met and kissed, but were denied sex although “their charioteers slept by the same fire”. This pattern is repeated on the second and third day, until on the fourth day Cu Chuliann slays Ferdia, exclaiming to the companion who he cradles, “O Ferdia! Your death will hang over me like a cloud forever”. The story recalls the lament of Achilles for Patroclus at Troy.

These relationships were by no means uncommon, as the evidence surviving into non-mythological, non-legendary, historical time demonstrates.

MANNERBUND IN HISTORY

In 371bce the Sacred Band of Thebes was formed in Hellas. This military unity, consisting of 150 pairs of male couples, was based on the belief that men fighting alongside their lovers would rather die that shame one another. The Sacred Band was annihilated thirty-three years later by Philip of Macedon and his son Alexander, himself homosexual, at the Battle of Chaeronea. British historian Arnold J. Toynbee holds this defeat as responsible for the first fatal breakdown of the Hellenic civilization.

Celtic MANNERBUND made a number of successful raids into the Mediterranean world, sacking Rome in 390bce and Apollo’s Oracle at Delphi around a century later, before finally the tables were turned by Julius “Queen of Bithynia” Caesar. These raids gave Classical writers a chance to observe the behaviour of the Celts at close quarters. Aristotle wrote that, “The men are inclined to let themselves be dominated by women, this is not an unusual tendency amongst energetic warrior races. Apart, of course, from the Celts, who respect manly love quite openly, so to speak.”

Diodorus Siculus was even more explicit, describing Celtic warriors as sleeping on animal skins flanked by male lovers, “they abandon without qualm the bloom of their bodies to others [and] don’t think this is shameful”.

Norman nobles and the royal Norman court in London were regularly criticized by the Church for homosexuality, which perhaps developed from the Jardarmen rites of their not-so-distant Norse forefathers. Rufus (William II), England’s last homosexual pagan king, came in for particular opprobrium, partly because of the colourful, form-fitting clothes he favoured for himself and his butch companions.

Prince William was the nephew of Rufus: when he drowned in the White Ship disaster of 1120ce Xian zealots believed the catastrophe to be divine punishment for on-board homosexual orgies.

[Sailors, specially pirates, have often taken on the appearance of floating MANNERBUND fuelled, in the famous words of Churchill’s assistant Anthony Montague-Browne, by “rum, sodomy and the lash.” Herulians were the earliest recorded Viking pirates, conducting raids along the Atlantic coast from Portugal to Denmark even before the final collapse of the Roman empire. Their social structure is best described as an anarchic democracy. This free-booting MANNERBUND spirit was once more unleashed in the Caribbean with the discovery of the New World. Companies of ships one again formed their own tiny democracies. Science Fiction author William Burroughs imagines an alternate utopian reality developed by swashbuckling homosexual pirates in CITIES OF THE RED NIGHT.

The enduring myth of Jason and the Argonauts is the supreme example of a maritime MANNERBUND, but instead of working as a free, independent collective, the Argonauts have a very specific function to perform for their civilization. So in the figure of Jason is combined the MANNERBUND archetype and the Faustian/ Promethean archetypes of the West.]

Normans were also notorious for their savage efficiency in battle, again a likely hang-over from the brutal MANNERBUND of their Scandinavian ancestors.

Robin Hood and his merry band of outlaw men living in the greenwood forest is perhaps the furthest we can track the traditional MANNERBUND into the very early modern period. As the leading authority on this people’s hero states, “One final characteristic of the early tales smacks of the household and of service: none of the outlaws has a family. Much is a miller’s son, but there is nothing of the miller. The treacherous prioress of Kirklees, Robin’s near-of-kin or cousin, is the only relative in the whole cycle. There are no parents, no wives and no children. Apart from the prioress, women scarcely figure at all.” “There is no Maid Marian. Marian only made her way into the legends via the May Games and that not certainly until the sixteenth century. It was not simply that Robin’s devotion to the Virgin Mother left no room for other women. It saw rather that there was no place for them in the context of the tales.” (J.C. Holt, ROBIN HOOD, Thames & Hudson London 1989). Of course Will Scarlet, Much the miller’s son and Little John are in there from the start!

Mannerbund in the future

By the end of the Nineteenth century, the process of abstracting MANNERBUND from the real world to the ideal world, to the realms of European Romanticism, was completed. In the Anglo-Saxon world we have the theories of Edward Carpenter (“Towards Democracy”) and the poems of Walt Whitman, notably the Calamus cycle in The Leaves of Grass. Here, Whitman talks of an “adhesive love” between men to build an organic, non-individualistic American republic.

A brave, more practical attempt was made by Hans Bluher and Wilhelm Jansen, founders of the Wandervogel during the Kaiserreich. Bluher’s romantic idealism was to meet with great success in his homeland over the following decades, cross-fertilizing with the unbroken spirit of returning WWI troops in the Freikorps. Lord Baden Powell watered-down many of Bluher’s ideas for a tame, still sadly Xian, British Empire. He also made the error of believing that ideals of honour, bravery and adventure were for malleable youths only and not full-grown men.
Perhaps the only place in Western culture where the MANNERBUND still thrives is also the most hopeful for the future; in the stories of Robert Heinlein, William Burroughs, comics and the internet: science fiction.

Aryan Futurism: The Vision
Below is the transcript of my talk given at the New Right meeting in central London on 28 May 2005:

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. It’s a great, hot, sunny afternoon, which means it’s clear, and when it’s clear we can see further. So I want to see how far we can see. First I’ll talk about where we could be, what it will look like, why Aryan, why Futurist, and why Imperium - and then I’ll discuss how we could get there: how to re-align folk away from the current corrosive human rights agenda and towards European nationalism and growth.

First – a journey to the absolute elsewhere. Imagine you’re flying high above the Eurasian continent – maybe in a spacecraft. Below, you see primeval forest, as our ancestors knew it, with bears, wolves and the lustrous beauty of Mother Nature restored. Every so often you catch sight one of the crystalline structures, perhaps kilometres high, which stud the verdant landscape from Galway Bay to the Kamchatka peninsular.

These crystalline structures are Arologies, originally imagined by Italian architect Paulo Soleri way back in the 1960s. They are cities, like the future-metropolis in Logan’s Run, or Arthur C. Clarke’s CITY AND THE STARS. Arcologies are completely self-sufficient and ecologically sound. They generate their own power using nuclear fission or, ideally, fusion. Healthy food is produced in plankton and algae factories, while genetically engineered protein means we no longer have to kill sentient animals for food, and we can eat meat with a clear conscience. Arcologies are connected to one another via trans-continental tunnels and air and space ports, and built in such a way that in the event of a planetary catastrophe they can leave Earth and survive in deep space.

Anyone who has not volunteered to perform duties for the State is allowed to leave and return to the Arcology at any stage. They can only take with them whatever food, clothing and weapons they can carry, then find a pleasant spot to build a log cabin, and live the life of a trapper. I imagine that the valleys closer to the Arcology would be more populous than those further away, and that a sort of frontier justice would prevail, something like the environment described in William Burroughs PLACE OF DEAD ROADS. Beyond this hinterland would extend the real wilderness. Our Germanic ancestors had a strong belief in the power of “Utgard” – “the area outside” – the area uninhabited by Gods or men, as opposed to “Midgard” – “Middle Earth” – the civilized world of Gods, men and order. Utgard is where Gods and men face their greatest battles. This “Utgard” is a testing ground for youths from the Arcology, to prove themselves in initiation ceremonies, rituals, drinking bouts, man-hunts and survival skills in the wilderness. Traditional societies have no trouble in channeling youthful boisterousness; Nu Labor hasn’t got a clue and calls them “teenage yobbos”.

Inside the Arcologies, the order and authority of the Imperium prevails. Traditionalist thinkers have given less thought to technological automation than to other, perhaps more pressing matters, but 2 who have are Alexander Raven Thomson and Oswald Mosley, both of the British Union of Fascists. I think in some ways the BUF can act as a more inspiring model than the interwar continental systems, as the liberalism and Humpty Dumpty economics of 30’s British Empire is not so dissimilar to the problems all Europeans face now, whereas Italy and Germany faced specific challenges particular to their time. Thomson was the BUF corporate state theorist, one of whose ideas was motorways, and who won almost 25% of the vote in Bethnal Green in 1937. In his book Civilisation as Divine Superman (1932) Thomson wrote, “civilisation could avoid decay if it adopted as its model the communal organisation of Maeterlinck’s insect communities, ‘super-organisms’ in which individual differentiation took place within a “communal spirit shared by every member of the hive”.

Mosley himself believed the solution to the challenge of automation was the “wage-price mechanism” and autarky, or, as he put it, “the insulated self-contained area freed from the world cost system”.

Economics is from Ancient Greek and simply means “household management”: at its most basic it means being able to provide the material life-support for a society – such things as food, warmth, shelter, and (I would argue) access to communications technology. I believe production of material goods should be limited, and rationed by the State exercising a Command Economy. The economy operates on the level of society, not culture. I don’t think economics is as important as politics, and nothing for serious-minded men to fall out over. There are lots of reasons why I personally believe a planned economy is superior to a free-market economy, but here are the main 3:

1. A command economy is the most efficient way of providing a population with the basic essentials for living. Economies of scale, standardization and above all automation would free vast numbers of workers from the meaningless toil of financial and other service industries, to pursue full-time their own individual interests, joining sports clubs, studying, or just drinking and smoking and hanging out with friends. Of course, if a person wants to do something worthwhile, then they can volunteer for State service in a field to which they are suited.
The Neolithic agricultural revolution greatly increased our power over nature, but at the cost of a life of drudgery in the fields for millions of peasants, trapped under the limited horizons of Bronze Age technology. Anthropologists estimate that hunter-gatherers of the stone age only spent about an hour a day working for their survival: the rest was play and contemplation. The industrial revolution increased our ability to manipulate our environment even further, thereby eliminating agricultural labour and, currently, manufacturing labour.

We’ve already had the technology to make this automated utopia a reality for a few decades; what’s stopping us from advancing is consumer capitalism, which is above all a psychological control system. It is propped up by advertising and mass-media to keep everyone’s snouts in the trough. As Buddha (a great Aryan) discovered, the cause of suffering is desire, and desire for more and more material goods (i.e. consumer capitalism) causes more and more suffering and is unsustainable, which leads to my second reason for supporting a command economy:

My second argument is that as limited resources dwindle, we have the option of either rationing, which would lead to the introduction of a planned economy, or leaving the free market as it is. Leaving things as they are would mean only the very richest, most treacherous plutocrats would survive, and they are the very same gangsters (the Windsors, the Bushes etc.) who collaborated the most in destroying Aryan civilization.

Thirdly, command economies seem to be the best at providing military security and guaranteeing technological advance. Britain was forced to adopt a planned economy during WW1 and WW2 to ensure survival. Germany pre-1945 was the most technologically advanced country in the world, the Soviet Union was the first space power and the Americans only got a man to the moon thanks to the state-supported military-industrial complex and Werner von Braun.

To sum up automation in the words of Ernst Junger in Der Arbeiter (1932) “Beyond the democracy of labour, in which the contents of the familiar world will be remoulded and reworked, the outlines can be made out of forms of State which are not comparable to anything that has so far existed. However, what can be predicted is that neither work nor labour will exist in any sense that we have known. The discovery of work as a constituent of abundance and freedom still lies before us…The true contest is for the discovery of a new and unknown world – a discovery more destructive and pregnant with consequences than the discovery of America. It is only with awe that we can look on as man strives to sharpen weapons and hearts in the midst of chaotic upheavals, and see how prepared he is to renounce any simple way out which leads to mere happiness.
To participate in this process and to serve its cause: this is the task with which we are charged.”

We’ve had a glimpse into the future – now I’d like to talk about why Aryan, and why an Imperium.

Only a radical Imperium based on traditional Aryan concepts of synthesis can do justice to the European Faustean spirit. To quote Guillaume Faye, “The old European tradition was always modernist…We don’t stupidly revolt against contemporary Europe, but remain loyal to that which has always been part of Europe”. He is right: the dead hand of 18th century liberalism, which was superseded by continental European political and philosophical thinkers over 2 centuries ago, still clenches the world ever-tighter in its rigor mortis grip.

In MAN AND TECHNICS Spengler wrote, “Now [man] meant not merely to plunder [nature] of her materials, but to enslave and harness her very forces so as to multiply his own strength. This monstrous and unparalleled idea is as old as the Faustean Culture itself. Already in the tenth century we meet with technical constructions of a wholly new sort. Already the steam engine, the steamship, and the air machine are in the thoughts of Roger Bacon and Albertus Magnus. And many a monk busied himself in his cell with the idea of Perpetual Motion.
This last idea never thereafter let go its hold on us, for success would mean the final victory over “God or Nature”, a small world of one’s own creation moving like the great world, by virtue of its own forces and obeying the hand of man alone. To build a world oneself, to be oneself God – that is the Faustian inventor’s dream, and from it has sprung all our designing and re-designing of machines to approximate as nearly as possible the unattainable limit of perpetual motion.”

English philosopher Francis Bacon eloquently expresses the necessary violence of the Faustian spirit in his FABLE OF PROTEUS – which is all about struggle:

“If any skilful minister of nature shall apply force to nature, and by design torture and vex it in order to its annihilation, it on the contrary, being brought to this necessity, changes and transforms itself into a strange variety of shapes and appearances; for nothing but the power of the Creator can annihilate it or truly destroy it… And that method of torturing or detaining will prove the most effective and expeditious which makes use of manacles and fetters, i.e lays hold and works upon matter in the extremist degree”.

These words remind me of the CERN particle accelerator in Switzerland with its huge magnetic forces.

According to the Perennial Tradition, we are consciousness fallen into matter. Aryan civilizations’ creation of technology, Descarte’s “quantifying reductionism” and scientific materialism is a further involution, or sinking, into matter. Our consciousness delves deeper into the Matrix of matter, but I believe this to be Western civilization’s destiny and also our escape. Tradition also tells us that the switch from the dark age, the Kali Yuga, to the Golden Age, the Krita Yuga, is instantaneous. My own guess is that it could be realized with Faster-than-Light travel through the light-barrier, culminating in something like the light-show at the end of Kubrik’s 2001, or the sphere in Event Horizon. W.H. Muller’s 1995 book Polaria explores the esoteric and spiritual side of FTL travel. Of course it may be some other, at present unimaginable, transgression of technology, or spiritual discipline, that facilitates the next stage of our evolution. But when we do this, we can be sure we become something beyond human. An effect of FTL travel is that the traveller exists in all places at all times, which is one of the definitions of a God.
In the famous words of Nietzsche, "Man is a rope, tied between beast and overman--a rope over an abyss...
What is great in man is that he is a bridge and not an end: what can be loved in man is that he is an overture and a going under...”

Now for the political structure…why an Imperium

Politics is about the direction we want our civilization to grow, and the structures necessary to ensure that growth. For that, I think it’s best to read Indo-Europeanists such as Mircea Eliade, Carl Jung, Alain Danielou and Georges Dumezil who have studied archetypal recurring patterns of Aryan power and Jean Markele who emphasises the importance of synthesis and movement in the Ancient Celtic worldview, similar to Heraclitus.

Aryan Imperium must be a synthesis of that ultimate political polarity – a stable, authoritarian Imperium (represented by Ice) v freedom, creative imagination and the Italian Futurist Marinetti’s idea of speed (all of which can all be characterized as Fire). It needs to be a resolution between settler v nomads, mountain men v mariners. To translate into mythological terms it’s the combination of Muspellheim v Nifleheim which leads to the creation of Ymir, father of Gods and Giants.

Integral to any Aryan Imperium worthy of the name is the Tripartite structure. Alby Stone, another Indo-Europeanist, best describes this trifunctional society as analogous to the human body, the different qualities represented by head, arms and torso.

My own suggestion is this: Emperor rules, in consultation with a Round Table of 12 advisors (like the 12 Olympian Gods or the 12 high Gods of Asgard). All posts are elected and, once elected, last for life. Election is open to all Aryans who have completed a voluntary, time-unspecified service of duty to the State (e.g. in the Armed Forces or hospitals). There’s more about a future volunteerist state in Robert Heinlein’s STARSHIP TROOPERS.

Another useful political concept, current in the European Union but originally developed by the Catholic Church Is Subsidiarity. The tenet holds that nothing should be done by a larger and more complex organization which can be done as well by a smaller and simpler organisation.

The Imperium has as its primary directive the evolution and progress of Aryan mankind, both as an individual and as a species. The Empire collectively is committed to scientific and technical innovation; evolution of the Overman, and guarantees to provide and maintain all platforms necessary for its development: unlimited resources for scientific research and freedom of speech, education and access to participate encouraged for all Aryans.

You can have an authoritarian State which exhorts free speech; the two are not incompatible. The Kaiserreich is good example. Bismark maintained the noble German tradition of Gedankenfreiheit by letting newspapers publish whatever they wanted and the State could only act retrospectively by suing in the courts.

I think that all Aryans in the Imperium will be freer than ever before, more free possibly than we can imagine. The whole objective of the Imperium is to liberate the creative imagination of each individual, thereby adding their own unique contribution to the ever-expanding empire. Industrial automation is the technological foundation for this ultimate state of freedom.

The principal and defining social relationship of the Imperium is the comrade. Men and women are encouraged to treat each other as brother and sister, homosexuality would be no more remarkable than it was in pagan Europe. We need a re-balancing of the interests of the nation and race against those of the nuclear family. I believe Heinrich Schurtz, author of Alterklassen und Mannerbunde is right, “Schurtz emphasised that the social impulse, the drive to create communities and political institutions, was reserved only to the male. The ‘instinctive sympathy’ between men was the precondition for social life”. Julius Evola, Adolf Brand and Hans Bluher all developed ideas about how the domestic, feminine, comfortable, later bourgeois nuclear family is antithetical to Aryan achievement. For the meantime, all of Europe faces de-population, and replacement by non-Aryans. I’ve read about towns in Germany that have managed to reverse the trend by giving tax-breaks and other encouragements to larger families. Abortion-on-demand of white babies must be outlawed across the continent. The so-called “pensions crisis” is yet another lie designed to keep the public cowered while the Establishment promotes third world immigration. It is easily solved with automation and a planned economy.

A word about language Proto-Indo-European, which scholars have been researching for 150 years now, is the ideal future Lingua Franca, with national languages taught in schools as second languages. Nearly all modern languages in Europe evolved from Indo-European, so not only would we learn the roots and thought processes involved in our own language, but we’d also be learning it for all European languages, making them easier to speak.

Territorial Extent

Eurasia
I imagine an Aryan Imperium stretching from Reykjavik to Vladivostok, including the whole of the European continent, Russia and Siberia. In particular, Aryan Futurists recognize the brutality of Hitlerism against our Slav brothers, and the continual undermining of the Slavic folk by the Western plutocracies and alien infiltration. There are 3 reasons why I feel especially optimistic about Russia and eastern Europe. Firstly, the region has a history of Aryan spirituality and culture going back millennia. Secondly, the region has the greatest concentration anywhere of undiluted Aryans. Thirdly, recent political developments, such as the increasing popularity of Eurasianism and National Bolshevism demonstrate burgeoning biocultural, racial and cultural awareness. Russia must be allowed to take the leading role as a nation in building the Imperium, if she so desires.
From north to south, we can imagine an Aryan homeland extending southward from the North Pole to around 34-36 degrees latitude. That would include Gibraltar, Malta, Crete and Cyprus, but exclude Jerusalem and the Middle East. (I believe this particular exclusion is vital, but others may disagree). The only salient non-Aryan civilizations that extend a little north of this latitude are the Oriental civilizations of China, Korea and Japan. Oriental civilization has a separate destiny from that of the West, we are on different roads, so we should secure their borders with the Imperium amicably, and leave them to their own fate.

Arctic Citadel
To avoid any lingering petty nationalist quarrels, a new capital city can be built in geodesic orbit above the North Pole. Hyperborean Aryans have a prior historic claim to the North Pole (Thule), demonstrated by Carl Jung and Mircea Eliade.

Space above the Polar Axis to be reserved for a 4-square castellated crystal space city, as envisaged in Aryan mythology from Arianrhod’s Fort in Celtic folklore to Mount Meru in Hinduism.
“If you build it, they will come”. You may recognize this quote from Field of Dreams. What I mean by it - is that a civilization needs a goal, a destination to mobilize around in order to demonstrate it’s true greatness. For the Romans it was Pax Augustus and the Golden Age celebrated by Virgil, for the Ancient Egyptians the building of the pyramids, and for the Germans a 1,000 year empire. Goethe tells us that great events cast their shadow before them, and I believe the Aryan mythos, which locates the gods of Asgard at the North Pole, is the shadow of that great event that still lies before us. That event is the transformation of Man into God.

Ringing the Arctic Ocean is a highly desirable consequence of a Eurasian, and eventually circumpolar, Aryan Imperium. If the Arctic was ice-free, then it would have by far the busiest shipping lanes in the world, and correspondingly massive ports and cities. All the other oceans and seas in the world would become backwaters. European sailors have always understood the need for Arctic trade, from the Vikings and Hanseatic League to the adventurers searching for a Northwest passage from the 15th to 19th centuries.

Politically and ideologically, the United States is the catastrophic result of a failed liberal-humanist experiment by 18th century Europeans. Even worse, many of the original white settlers had been driven out of Europe because of their extreme Christian fundamentalism…a fundamentalism that lives on today in the Red Republican states that voted for George W. Bush, and also in their Christian Identity nationalist groups.

If Canada and at least parts of the United States opt to join the Imperium, then we surround the Arctic Ocean completely and it becomes a “mare nostrum” (our sea) in the same way that the Mediterranean became “mare nostrum” for the Romans.

The scientific consensus is that the Arctic will be ice-free by the end of the century, but I’d like to think that by 2100 our technology would have made maritime navigation irrelevant, except for hobbyists; instead we can use airships and inter-continental tunnels for transport.

The Polar Axis City will be the launch-pad for the Aryan Space Empire (which happily has the acronym ASE=from race of Germanic Gods), incorporating the terrestrial Imperium stretching across Eurasia and the Arctic, additional strategic locations on Earth, especially on the Equator for satellite launches/ space elevators, and of course any planets, satellites, planetary systems and regions of space that we occupy. Equatorial bases would be negotiated in friendly consultation with Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Latin Americans and any other culture that survives the collapse of the plutocratic New World Order.
GREEN – HOW TO GET THERE

Political Futurist Party September 1918 Rome “intuits present needs and articulates precisely the consciousness of the whole race in its purging revolutionary momentum. The party can be joined by all Italians, men or women, of any class or age, even if artistic and literary concepts are beyond them”.

How to get there. Our great advantage is that people know this stuff instinctively through what Michael Moynihan has called meta-genetics. Georges Sorel said we need a myth to mobilize the folk, and I say what better myth than the true one, the ones that speak of Aryan origins and destiny, the one that every Aryan knows in their blood.

The French post-modernist Paul Virilo has emphasised the importance of being physically in a place to force change, in his book Speed and Politics. It’s what he calls Dromology, getting people onto the streets, as in the French Revolution or unemployed Germans after 1929-30.

I believe the next step would be to establish “Aryan cultural centres” in the heart of every town and city across the continent. These centres would be much more than just offices – they would have barrack dormitories, bars, sports facilities, libraries, temples or a pantheon to all the Aryan gods (which could also be used as a bar), as well as offices with IT for communications/ propaganda. Rural Cultural centres could provide their urban counterparts with free, organic food, in exchange for new recruits and their labour. I think it’s better to concentrate resources on that sort of practical project (as the Arktion Federation is doing with the Jomsburg farm project), rather than wasting resources on elections and lost deposits. After all, south London has some sort of immigrant legal rights drop-in shop or refugee community centre in every high street, but nothing for the people who built this city.

The function of these cultural centres is to promote Aryan culture, in its broadest sense, and defend our people. Oswald Mosley had something similar in the 1930s (sadly without the pagan temples!) which he called “Black Houses”:

“In the autumn of 1933 it [the B.U.F.] acquired the lease of Whiteland Teachers Training College in the King’s Road, Chelsea, which became know as Black House. It was a cross between an administrative headquarters, social club and army camp. Other Black Houses in the main urban centres were formed on the same model. In the original one, hundreds of members of I Squad or the London Defence Force slept, ate and lived to the sound of the bugle summoning them for reveille (re-valley) meal-times, parades and lights out. They trained in gymnastics, boxing and judo. They roared out in their military-looking vans to defend speakers or rescue them in trouble.”

Instead of judo, I’d suggest some native martial art as researched by Pennick and others.

I think it’s very important, not just symbolically, that these meeting are taking place in the heart of the parasitic Leviathan, a founder-capital of the New World Order and home to Winston Churchill and the Rothschilds. As you know, London is one of the citadels of multi-racism, global capitalism and everything we hate, and has been for centuries, since Henry VIII, Oliver Cromwell and especially since the 1688 Glorious Revolution and the foundation of the Bank of England. My feeling is if a strong, intelligent, positive Aryan movement can start here and succeed, under the noses of our foes, then it can succeed anywhere.

Finally, I’d like to end with a quote from Ortega y Gasset, “Europeans do not know how to live unless they are engaged in some great enterprise. When this is lacking, they grow petty and feeble and their souls disintegrate.”

Aryan Futurism is for everyone who feels the fire of Aryan aspiration and achievement in their blood. Above all, it is about action for the future.
